Teeth Whitening For A Brighter Smile

Did you know there is some truth that when you’re smilin’, the whole world smiles with you? Do you know if you walk toward someone with a smile on your face, they respond back positively to you. Also, the way you smile can benefit your life? Do you smile less as you’ve gotten older because you don’t like the color of your teeth? Does that stop you from smiling?

Disclosure: This is a sponsored post with Smile Brilliant. As always all opinions are purely my own.

I have always taken pride in my smile as my most important accessory. I have used white strips and won a whitening kit at a silent auction years ago but was so happy when Smile Brilliant reached out to do this collaboration.

Whitening your teeth provides immediate benefits to help you look younger and feel more confident.

If you aren’t in the habit of spending money on yourself, you may feel hesitant about the cost and trouble of getting a brighter smile. If this sounds like you, consider the following benefits that a brighter smile can give.

  • More Confidence

As we get older we see our skin aging with wrinkles and lines, our hair is thinning, and our body morphing after menopause.  Getting your teeth whitened can give you a boost of confidence and help you to smile more.

  • Better Dental care = Better Health Care

Many studies show that a healthy smile may impact overall health. Your oral health can provide doctors with warning signs for a range of diseases and conditions, including those in the heart.

It is never too late to start to take better care of yourself. Want an easy way to kickstart a lifestyle change? One where you stop putting yourself at the bottom of the priority list? Getting your teeth whitened is an effective first step to take.

  • A Polished Look

If you have terrific hair, perfect makeup, and a FAB outfit why let your teeth not look their best? Getting your teeth whitened ensures that your appearance is one that speaks of a confident well-cared for individual.

  • The Happiness Factor

Smile. Seriously, just do it. You’ll enjoy this post more if you do. (If you’re thinking “Screw that, I don’t want to enjoy this post more” then feel free to stop reading). Your smile is a powerful tool. Most people think that we smile because we feel happy, but it can go the other way as well: we feel happy because we smile.

Before Photo

As you can see, my teeth are not yellow but they could use some brightening. I drink coffee and red wine which both stain my teeth.

Before you undergo any course of teeth whitening, it would be a good idea to have a check-up to make sure your mouth is healthy. It’s quite common for teeth-whitening products to cause sensitivity.

How to use Smile Brilliant

This kit is the T3 Sensitive System for light stains. It includes 3 whitening syringes, 3 desensitizing syringes, and everything you need to create the molds that Smile Brilliant will use to create your custom teeth whitening trays. It also includes instructions for every part of the process. If your teeth are dark yellow or you want a brighter white I would recommend using a longer whitening system either the T6 or T9.

In order to get your custom teeth whitening trays, you need to mix one of the catalyst pastes and one of the base pastes to create the final putty you put into these trays. After you spread it out evenly on the tray, you press one evenly up to your upper teeth, hold it there for two and half minutes, remove it, and then repeat with the other tray to your lower teeth. After both are made, you let them sit for 30 minutes, rinse them, let them dry completely, and then ship them back to Smile Brilliant so they can make your final custom trays!

You will receive your  custom teeth whitening trays which will fit perfectly over your teeth, and the best part is that they reach all of them. Unlike strips, you’ll be whitening your entire smile, not just the 6 or 8 front teeth. And unlike generic trays, that look like mouth guards, they’re fit to your teeth so they whiten every nook and cranny evenly.

After brushing your teeth with just water on your toothbrush, no toothpaste, you then put a thin line of the whitening gel inside your trays along the front, dry your teeth, and put them on. Then set your timer for however long you want to whiten, Smile Brilliant recommends between 45 minutes to 3 hours depending on your sensitivity, and go on with your day. I was shooting for 1-2 hours per day.

After the time is up, you rinse your mouth and the trays, brush your teeth, this time with toothpaste, dry your trays, and put the desensitizing gel into them now. You dry your teeth again, which is to help the product really grab onto your teeth to work its best, and put on the trays. The desensitizing treatment only has to be worn for 15 to 20 minutes.
Then out the door, you go with a brighter smile!
After Photo
As you can see my smile is brighter after 2 weeks using Smile Brilliant. Can you imagine after using it for 4 weeks! I still love my coffee in the morning and my red wine at dinner. I only use this at bedtime after my glass of red wine. It is recommended to wear the trays at bedtime because we ned to stay clear of any staining agent, in my case, red wine.

It’s also helpful to know that your smile can produce benefits aside from a positive emotional state. Others will see you as more open, friendly, flexible, confident, resilient, and successful.

You are a beautiful person, whether or not you feel that way right now. Your smile is your shine, and now it will be even brighter!

  1. Your smile is beautiful Robin! I agree, our teeth and our smiles really are an accessory and just like skin they are worthy of daily care. It’s amazing to me how many people don’t go to the dentist regularly! This kit looks like it covers all the bases needed to get a gleaming smile!
