Welcome to my blog!
I am so glad you stopped by.
Let me tell you a little bit about myself.

I created this blog post to show that we’re not finished living our best lives now as midlife women. We’re relevant and age to us is just a number.

Who is Robin LaMonte?

I am now in my 60’s even though I named my blog post “Hello I’m 50ish.”   This blog was created in June 2016 when I felt midlife women wanted to learn more about health, beauty, and fashion that pertain to the over 50ish woman. Over the years I added travel and entertaining posts.

I am a highly successful interior designer, mother of 4 adult children, Nana to two adorable little girls, loves good food, wine, and laughter.

Do you love to entertain and decorate during the holidays? So do I! I  share my expertise as an interior designer, who loves to entertain and set a pretty table.

Holiday Entertaining

You will also see my fashion style as a normal middle-aged woman who wants to look chic and classy but isn’t fashion model thin.

If you love to travel you’ve come to the right place! I share my travels to other cities and countries that I think other midlife women will enjoy reading about. Because we have time on our hands to explore cities and countries it’s nice to have someone of the same age share their travel stories.

I hope you enjoy my blog and please feel free to leave me a comment or write to me if you have any questions.

Background

 Flight Attendant

I was a flight attendant in the late 70’s until 1987.
I come from an airline family. My father flew for Northwest Airlines, and my 3 brothers are airline captains for Delta and American.
It was a wonderful career and I love traveling.
Here I am as a brunette { natural} and at a weight, I haven’t been at since 1987. Those were the good old days!

Interior Designer

In my 40’s I decided to start a business that would be flexible enough to attend to my children’s school and sports activities. Which meant working from home creating my own hours around my family life.
(It also brought an abrupt halt to wallpapering, faux painting, and sewing my own custom bedding and window treatments. I started to pay my contractors to do what I did for free!)
I decided to be an independent interior designer working from home, but first I went back to school to complete my interior design degree.  Rooms Revamped Interior Design opened it’s doors in 2002 when I was 45.
Being an interior designer gave me the opportunity to be on Good Morning America, featured in magazines, and on interior design podcasts.
Robin has been honored to do designer showhouses in New Jersey and Atlanta. Last designer showhouse was the 2019 Atlanta Homes & Lifestyles Holiday House where I designed a wellness retreat.

Family

I left flying the friendly skies in 1987 to marry a passenger I had on my flight to Kansas City in 1984. He was in the right place at the right time. I call it fate.

Together we have built a wonderful life with 4 wonderful children and now we are grandparents to 2 sweet little girls!

Grandparent’s Day

I stayed home to raise the children and became an avid gardener and cook. My decorating skills were honed during that time. I faux painted, wallpapered, sewed custom bedding, window treatments, and redesigned every room in the house.
We will never be empty nesters because our beautiful daughter Samantha, was born with Down Syndrome, will always live with us and not in a group home. It is our choice to have her with us, but there are other living options for adults with special needs.
My life may resonant with you if you have a disabled child.

Please share comments on the posts and if you need advice, I’m here for you.

I look forward to hearing from you!!
