Our Vision Changes as We Get Older

As we get older our vision changes and we may need help with a magnifying glass or monocle. We start to notice this in our mid-40s, when many of us may start to have problems seeing clearly at close distances. Especially when reading the small print on bottles and working on the computer. Because the lens in our eyes becomes less flexible over time. This makes it harder for your eyes to focus on near objects than when you were younger.

Now our eyes don’t have enough focusing power to see clearly for reading and other close vision tasks. Which is why many of us have readers or prescription eyeglasses after 50.
