Celebrating Women We Love with Dressbarn and 1-800 Flowers

Ladies, do you give flowers to the women you love?

This post is sponsored by Dressbarn with a special partnership with 1-800 Flowers just in time for Mother’s Day to celebrate the “Women We Love”!

I am blessed that my daughter Lisa is my design assistant, one of my photographers, and also my best friend.

I love celebrating women I love each and every day! I am surrounded by my daughters and blessed that my mother was able to join me in Atlanta as we celebrated Easter and our granddaughter’s first birthday.

I am blessed that I had a wonderful role model in my mother and we are truly best friends. Not all mother and daughter relationships are loving and healthy. Some women have a toxic relationship with their mothers and have struggled with self-confidence and self-worth as a woman.

Because I was loved and adored by my mother I always felt confident and have a strong sense of self-worth. I believe her love was the foundation of who I am as a woman and as a mother raising my own daughters. In turn, I have raised my daughters with love and respect, never pushing them away from me but embracing them for who they are as women. Even Sammy, who has Down Syndrome, is a confident and independent woman because of our relationship.

I love this denim skirt I selected to wear for this collaboration. It has a lovely length and I love how flattering it looks on me. The tweed jacket can be dressed up or down and tweed jackets are trending this year! Now I have 2 tweed jackets to style in 2019! I just recently shared my vintage tweed jacket here.

I loved adding the pink top, the pink bowtie mules, and the pink tote to complete my outfit.

Sidenote:

I apologize for being MIA these last few weeks. I have been traveling a lot ( will share my travels with you soon!) and haven’t had the time to sit down and write my blog!!

As the founder of the Influencers of Midlife Summit putting the 2020 event together with my wonderful team of women and working on huge interior design projects takes precedence over the blog. I needed to prioritize my time and I hope you understand my absence.

Thank you for stopping by today and I always appreciate your comments!

Thank you to Dressbarn and 1-800 Flowers for this wonderful collaboration!

      Veldene,

So happy you stopped by and shared your wonderful relationship with your mother and daughter.
We are so lucky we have loving mothers who taught us how to be loving mothers.

      Hugs,

  2. I love this post! We recently moved from FL to VA and one of the hardest things about leaving was moving away from our dear friends and neighbors, who have been our neighbors for about 15 years! She used to bring me flowers. thanks for sharing.

      Heidi,

Flowers are just as lovely to me as receiving a gift.
I hope you’re making new friends in VA!

      Hugs,
      Robin

  3. I totally agree with you Robin — mother daughter relationships are the best. Even though I lost my mother when I was 22, I feel her loving embrace every day. My daughter and I are extremely close and I admire that your family is full of love. Beautiful sentiments and pictures.

      Phyllis,

I am sorry your mother left you at an early age.
Many women do not experience the loving relationship you had with your mother. You are so fortunate to have wonderful memories of her.
So happy you have the same relationship with your daughter.

      Hugs,
      Robin

      Jess,

      Yes I joined you today!
I don’t know how you keep up with your blog post when you have days you’re not feeling well.
      I admire your work ethic.

I love jean skirts and prefer them over shorts.

      Hugs,
      Robin

      1. Thank you Robin! I don’t have another job I go to due to my illness, and for the blog, I just make myself do it. Thanks so much. I love jean skirts too! xx

    Nancy,

Thank you Nancy. I am very fortunate that I have a loving relationship with my mother and my daughters.
Parents have no idea the impression ( positive or bad) they leave on their children!
Love from your mother is the greatest gift we can leave our children.

    Hugs,
    Robin

  6. You are so right about mother/daughter relationships. I don’t have one with my mother and that made me struggle a lot as a child and also later on. What a lovely photos of 4 generations!
