A Twin Set Sweater and Jeans For My Super Bowl Party
Now that the LA Rams and Cincinnati Bengals are going to Super Bowl LVI, it’s time for you to start planning what you’re wearing for the Super Bow! We’re going to be again hosting the Super Bowl this year. But I want to make it an effortless party to enjoy the commercials and the football game. Even my outfit will be effortless because I will be wearing a twin set sweater created by simply matching my cardigan with a top in the same color.
Can you believe that twin set sweaters are still popular after all these years! I remember purchasing matching twin sets in the ’80s and ’90s—such an effortless style. So when I was looking for a cardigan to match my jeans while I was in Park City, a twin set seemed to be my answer!
My Twin Set Sweater Outfit
I had no idea that twin sets are coming back for spring this year. But as we all know, fashion trends seem to recycle every decade. What I find insulting is that twin sets are often referred to as Grandma approved. Yes, many of us are grandmothers now, but to think it’s a fashion only for older women, these writers need to think again! Designers have created a more modern version of the twin set using bralettes instead of tank tops to go with a cardigan. Which, of course, shall never be seen on this 65-year-old woman! I will stick to the classic version, thank you very much!
Wearing a matching cardigan and tank always looks pulled together, neat, polished, dressy, and elegant in a relaxed way. I purchased the cardigan and tank top when Chico’s was having their semi-annual sale.
My cardigan is still available but in limited sizes and colors. Also, it’s on sale, making it challenging to get the exact piece. It’s a very soft knit, which is why it’s selling out so quickly. You have seen the embroidered jeans on this post, but this look is very casual.
Here are some examples of twin sets and jeans for your super bowl party.
How To Throw an Effortless Super Bowl Party
Since it’s all about watching the Super Bowl, you don’t need to worry about a sit-down dinner. So instead, it’s all about appetizers, and I’m serving pizza this year! How effortless is that!
Serve Simple Appetizers
My family loves buffalo chicken wings as an appetizer. Of course, we usually eat wings, but another great recipe is the Buffalo chicken dip which is always a hit!
What’s a Super Bowl party at my house without Bruschetta! Another easy recipe!
Make it a Pizza Party!
One of the easiest ways to host a Super Bowl party is to make it a pizza party! I like to use fresh pizza dough or purchase unbaked fresh cheese pizzas and let the guests add their favorite toppings to the pizza. I even use cauliflower crust pizzas for those who prefer gluten-free pizza.
Another fun pizza idea is making individual-sized pizzas for your Super Bowl party!
For dessert, just serve cookies! Either homemade or from your local bakery if you don’t have time to bake.
Will you be hosting a Super Bowl party or going to one? I can’t wait to see the commercials!
