Holiday Family Jammie Photo

Have you ever taken a family jammie photo with your adult children and grandchildren?

The Story Behind the Photo

Things change for the best when you become a grandparent, uncle or aunt. When our little Livie Lee came into our lives back on April 23rd we fell deeply madly in love with this little bundle of joy. Our voices went higher and our lives soon became richer. I noticed an immediate change in my husband when Livie was born. I think it’s because men as fathers miss the opportunity to watch their children grow but as a grandfather, he has become enraptured with this little person who still doesn’t speak but has this huge smile with squinty eyes everytime she sees Poppa.

In October my daughter in law simply asked if we were interested in a family jammie photo and I said it was up to my husband. Without skipping a beat he said “If that is what Livie wants” it’s fine by him! Those words coming from a man who prides himself on being a well dressed 60ish something man. I don’t even shop for my husband because has a great sense of style.

We have always taken Christmas photos as a family but never wore matching outfits or matching anything until we decided that we were going to wear matching pajamas.

Wearing matching pajamas seems to be a holiday trend with younger families. I have noticed on Instagram young families wearing the matching pajamas but I haven’t seen grandparents wearing them with adult children.

We gathered together as a family for Thanksgiving and shot our first ever family jammie photo on iPhones because no one had the wherewithal to go get the DSLR cameras! (We have learned from previous experience the people behind the lens need to be familiar with shooting on DSLR cameras otherwise the photos look just as bad as the smartphones.)

Sammy is all about Christmas pajamas and wears her every night to bed.

My husband and sons wear theirs as lounging outfits because the pajamas are so comfortable.

This is so precious of Livie with her mommy and daddy don’t you think?

Aunt Lisa’s favorite new buddy…

This Christmas will bring added joy to our lives as we celebrate the holidays with our precious little Livie.

I wonder what we’ll be wearing next Christmas for our family photo?

Here are some more matching Pajamas

I would love to know!

Merry Christmas!
