Easy Super Bowl Party Food Ideas

Host a super Bowl Party

The Super Bowl is a great time to throw a party. Because we spend the day watching football in front of our televisions I keep my menu to mostly appetizers of healthy and not so healthy appetizers. Today I’m sharing with you my Super Bowl menu.
This post is in collaboration with Nature’s Garden. However, all opinions are my own.

Are you ready for some Super Bowl football? We love watching college and NFL football and the season comes to an end next weekend on Super Bowl Sunday. My weekends will never be the same. We start entertaining on Saturdays for college football and end our football entertaining on the Super Bowl. Sadly my Minnesota Vikings are not there and I know many of your teams didn’t make it to Super Bowl, but this is still a fun game to host a party for! I am cheering on the Kansas City Chiefs next Sunday because 3 Clemson Tigers and one Florida Gator are on the team. (The Chiefs last won the AFC in 1969, and they went on to win Super Bowl IV against the Minnesota Vikings. I remember that game well. UGH!)

Where We Watch the Super Bowl

If you follow my blog you have seen some of my home featured in my posts. Today it’s all about entertaining in the basement ( or terrace level if you have a walkout basement as we do.)

We host many of our parties on the lower terrace level where we have plenty of space for a large crowd. And if the Super Bowl has a lopsided score our guests can play shuffleboard or pool while still enjoying the game.  We have televisions everywhere so you won’t miss the game while playing pool.

All the food will be served from this terrace level kitchen which helps me from running up and down the stairs with food. I love having a second kitchen when we host large parties. I can use the dishwasher downstairs and clean up is a breeze!

We have a home theater in our basement for the serious football fans. (If the Vikings were playing, you would find me in this room but alas no such luck!) When we host the Master’s Golf Final Day for our 50 serious golf enthusiasts, this room is full. They only pop out for refills of food and cocktails. If this game is a Snooze Bowl, we will fall asleep in the recliners!

Easy Super Bowl Party Food

Our Super Bowl party consists of healthy and unhealthy food choices. We like to give our guests options on what they prefer to eat. Many of our friends are Gluten Free, Dairy Free, and a few are on Keto Diets.

Sammy has eliminated dairy and gluten from her diet by following a modified Whole30 Diet plan so I plan menus for parties that she can enjoy with the rest of the family and our friends. Can you believe by eliminating dairy and gluten you can actually lose weight!

Healthy Choices

Just putting out nuts to nibble on while watching the game is a very simple appetizer. This Keto snack mix is perfect for the party!

Not So Healthy Appetizers

I love anything with cheese in it or on it so I am guilty of serving up a lot of heavy calorie food when we entertain. This is why we don’t serve a meal at our Super Bowl parties.

It calls for basic pork sausage (which, delicious) but you could switch it up by swapping in chorizo or Italian sausage. Here’s the recipe.

Yes, we have family members who don’t eat cheese based appetizers so I try to create a balanced assortment of good and bad appetizers.
However I must say I prefer unhealthy appetizers for a party because they will you up!

      Robin
