Wearing of the(Lime)Green and Navy for St. Patrick’s Day

Top of the mornin’ to you! Did you remember to set your clocks ahead? I hate losing an hour of sleep but love more light at night. Can you believe spring begins next Sunday? This week we’re celebrating St. Patrick’s Day, whether or not we’re Irish. I am English, Scottish, and Irish by birth. I thought I was only English for many years until my grandfather did some genealogy research through the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. So as an Irish descendant, I am celebrating St. Patrick’s Day this week wearing lime green and navy and sharing 3 of my favorite Bailey’s Irish Cream cocktails with you!

Saint and Sofia sponsored this post. However, all opinions are my own.

My Lime Green and Navy Outfit for St.Patrick’s Day

Bright green is trending for spring, and I love how it looks with navy. Navy and green is a classic color combination.  This lime green top was featured in another post, but I couldn’t wait to wear it with this blue leopard print silk scarf and navy chinos from Saint and Sofia.

When I saw the splashes of lime green in the scarf, I knew this lime green top would be perfect. Unfortunately, this lime green top from Chico’s is sold out, but I have linked another one for you here.

My Abalone drop earrings go perfectly with this lime green and navy outfit. I rarely wear them, but they look fabulous. The colors in the shell will work with any navy and green outfit.

My 3 Favorite Bailey’s Irish Cream Cocktails

Bailey’s Irish cream is my mother’s favorite cocktail. Just a simple cocktail of Bailey’s over the rocks. I love Bailey’s for St. Patrick’s day. Since I am not a Guinness beer lover or Irish whiskey fan, I love a cocktail made with Bailey’s Irish Cream for St. Patrick’s Day!

Mudslide

Mudslide is a delicious drink made with Baileys, vodka, and Kahlua – the perfect sweet cocktail for lovers of Baileys Irish Cream. This is very similar to a White Russian.

Ingredients:

  • Bailey’s Irish Cream
  • Vodka
  • A Coffee liqueur such as Kahlua or Godiva Chocolate Liqueur
  • Optional: chocolate syrup and whipped cream for drizzling and garnishing the glass

Irish Mudslide – replace the vodka with Jameson Irish Whiskey, perfect for St Patrick’s Day!

You can also make a Mudslide Martini. Just swirl some chocolate syrup in the martini glass before pouring in the mudslide ingredients. Rim the martini glass with cocoa powder. Sprinkle chocolate shavings over the top for a fancy-looking martini!

Irish Coffee

Leprechauns will be beating down your door for this Creamy Bailey’s Irish Coffee. Making Irish coffee at home is super simple. You don’t have to add Irish whiskey, and it still tastes good!

Ingredients:

  • 1-ounce Irish whiskey, to taste
  • 6 ounces hot coffee, fresh brewed
  • 2 ounces Baileys Irish Cream liqueur
  • whipped cream
  • coffee beans for garnish, optional

May God be with you and bless you. May you see your children’s children. May you be poor in misfortunes and rich in blessings. May you know nothing but happiness from this day forward.

I hope you have a happy St.Patrick’s Day!
