The Benefits of HydraFacials and Dermaplaning Treatments

Ladies, do you love facials like me? I have recently noticed how wrinkled and dry my skin has become with all my close-ups, which has horrified me! So I told my friend, Paige Conner, a licensed  Aesthetician, about my displeasure at the decline of my skin, and she recommended I try a Hydrafacial treatment. But she also suggested that we first do a dermaplaning treatment on my face before the hydrafacial. So today, I’m sharing in detail the benefits of HydraFacial and Dermaplaning treatments on the post.

Disclosure: This post contains facial treatments sponsored by Luxury Lash Lounge in Atlanta, Georgia. As always, all opinions are purely my own.

My skin has become extremely dry and flaky this winter. I knew that I needed a good exfoliation and a hydrating facial. As I’ve gotten older, I realize that I have damaged my skin from too much sun. However, menopause has also changed the texture of my skin.

Last spring, I introduced to you the DiamondGlow Facial, but I also love getting HydraFacials to exfoliate and hydrate my skin.

What is a Hydrafacial?

Have you heard of HydraFacial? I didn’t until Paige told me about it and why it’s essential to add hydration to my aging skin.

Good hydration is the true foundation of healthy skin. This treatment is a combination of exfoliation, extraction, cleansing, hydration, and antioxidant protection. HydraFacial is effectively used on all skin types with no side effects, even on the most sensitive skins.

The HydraFacial treatment takes about thirty minutes, and the procedure is immediately effective. No downtime is required. You are ready to put your makeup on and continue about your day! I felt no discomfort during the facial, and my face wasn’t red at all.

HYDRAFACIAL TREATMENT PROCESS

There are five steps involved in receiving a HydraFacial. Each one is an essential part of the entire process that includes:

Step 1 Vortex-Cleaning™
Paige uses the patented HydroPeel® deplaning tool to clean the skin deeply and pores with a nutrient-rich solution, soften the skin, and then lift away impurities.

Step 2 HydroPeel® Exfoliation
This glycolic/salicylic acid peel is so gentle is barely tingles while it quickly and painlessly extracts debris.

Step 3 Vortex-Extraction™
This vortex is a robust circulation of liquids in a vacuuming motion that quickly and effectively dislodges sebum, whiteheads, and blackheads and then deposits them into the extraction tank.

Step 4 Vortex-Fusion™
Paige uses the spiral tip tool to infuse the skin with hydrating solutions and potent antioxidants. This solution will improve the effects of hyperpigmentation, oily skin plus fine lines and wrinkles.

What is a Dermapaning Treatment?

Dermaplaning is a procedure that exfoliates your skin and gets rid of dirt and vellus hair, better known as “peach fuzz“. It’s different from dermabrasion, where an aesthetician or doctor uses a high-speed, rotating brush to exfoliate the skin. With dermaplaning, they use a scalpel or a tool called a dermatome. It’s literally shaving your face. However, I prefer to have a professional cshave my face.

Look at all that peach fuzz coming off my neck and face!

  3. Morning Robin!
This sounds great! I actually got my first facial when we went to Taos, NM last year . The place we stayed had a wonderful spa and my sis in law and I went for the facial. It was so nice, relaxing and i learned about various products that I use now on my skin. I think extra hydration is important.
I think taking care of my skin, at 50 is a priority. I started skin care around 40, but glad I did.
I would love to attend the Midlife conference , but will be in California for vacation then. Perhaps if all goes well, you will host another.?
    Have a fabulous day!

      Jess,

I love a great facial and I have been doing them since my 40’s too!
I have damaged my skin from sunbathing and I noticed in the last 2 years how dry and wrinkled it has become so I reach for hydration products now not retinol based skincare which dries my skin.

I wish you were coming to the event but enjoy your time in California!

      Hugs,
      Robin
