Summertime Blues

As we approach the end of summer are you getting the summertime blues? I can’t believe it’s August and Fall is just around the corner!

This post is sponsored by Soft Surroundings, however, all opinions are my own.

The summer that wasn’t……….

Our normal life was put on pause this summer because of the coronavirus but I tried to make the most of it. Did you?

I asked my followers on Instagram what they have missed the most during our coronavirus summer and many of them said they missed traveling and hugging the most. Lots of people said they missed their kids and smiling at each other.

But each one of use is doing the best we can within the new normal. Which means wearing masks and social distancing.

This summer we saw many cancellations and postponed events which can cause summertime blues for many. Instead of taking family trips many of you have stayed at home. Many things like eating at restaurants, shopping, and spending time with family and friends have become a bigger production of wearing masks, staying 6 feet apart,  or just staying at home because you feel safer there.

Why Wearing Blue can beat the Summertime Blues

Wearing Blue makes you feel safe and relaxed.  The color blue evokes feelings of calmness and spirituality as well as security and trust. Seeing the color blue causes the body to create chemicals that are calming.

I learned about color theory from taking classes for interior design but this can also be applied to fashion. Blue is a calming color we use in bathrooms to create a sanctuary within our home.

    Hi Robin
I love this beautiful sky blue blouse on you , looks wonderful with your hair. This mix of blue and white is very pretty and summery.
The coronavirus has changed much of our daily life, as we went to pick up my mom who has been with us now since May. She found i very difficult to be alone.
I do miss hugging and seeing people, along with going to shows and just feeling more relaxed.

  2. Robin, this virus changed so many things. I miss traveling to Greece, hugging my newborn grandson, and entertaining bigger groups of friends. I also find that it’s made us a different society in the sense that we alsmost have to stop empathizing (can you imagine a child falling and getting hurt and none of his friends allowed to go touch him or be near him?)
I’m so on board with you when it comes to colour! Blue is an essential pick-me-upper for me- I love it. And you look fabulous in this shade! xx

  3. Robin,
