How to Decorate A Beach Themed Table | Mud Pie

With summer just around the corner do you head to the beach?  Spending time at the beach in Hilton Head is the best way I know how to relax. I love the ocean views, the sounds of the ocean, and the palm trees. Of course, I decorated our beach condo at Hilton Head with beach themed decor.  Even my table is set in a beach theme. Come on in and see how I entertain in Hilton Head!

We have had an oceanfront condo for 3 years. However, we rent the condo out so we probably spend 6 weeks a year at Hilton Head. I wanted my home to say, “Welcome to the Beach” when family or guests arrive at our condo which is why I did the condo in a beach theme.

The condo was very 1990’s when we purchased it. I renovated the bathrooms and decorated our home in a coastal living theme. Easy care furniture with lots of wicker and rattan accent pieces. Lots of beach themed decor throughout our home with ocean-inspired colors on the walls.

Upon entering our condo you are greeted by this hanging canvas from Mud Pie.

How to Style a Beach Themed Table

Having a beach themed table setting can be used for summer parties even when you aren’t on the beach. Beach themed table decor is based on natural fibers like linen or jute, candles, the colors of the ocean, and of course, things found in the sea like seashells. Maybe you miss the ocean this summer because you canceled your summer vacation. Decorate your table as if you’re at the beach instead! You can throw a Luau party in your backyard using simple beach table decorations.

For the beach themed table, I kept it simple with the table runner as the primary focus.  How cute is this Mud Pie table runner? I accessorized the table with candles and seashells I had purchased at Michael’s for Sammy’s Luau party last summer.

Keeping the color scheme to blue and white is very beachy. For instance, nautical themes can be used as well as coastal or beach themes. Even infuse your beach table with a patriotic theme for all the holidays this summer. Just punch it up with red, flags, and add flowers. I will share how I styled this red, white, and blue next week. (First I must shop!)

The beach house platter and the shell salad bowls are perfect for entertaining.
