Taking Care of Your Skin After 50 with AmLactin

Do you suffer from dry skin like I do as I’ve gotten older? I should tell you that dry skin relief is within reach when using AmLactin!

This post is sponsored by AmLactin, however all opinions are my own.

As we head into cooler temperatures and drier weather we need to really take of the skin on our bodies as well as our faces. With so much focus on anti-aging skin care products for our faces, we tend to forget the largest organ in our body, our skin.

I have been using @AmLactin products for the last month and found my skin thirsty for moisture. Living this summer in a high-altitude environment like Park City —7,000 feet above sea level—means that the lower humidity dries out your skin.

AmLactin- The Lactic Acid Difference

Lactic acid is the key ingredient in AmLactin and has been studied in more than 50 clinical trials. Lactic Acid is a powerful yet gentle alpha-hydroxy acid (AHA) that powers its therapeutic moisturizers. The most significant skin improvements were achieved when the concentration of lactic acid was 10% or greater, demonstrating concentration matters. All AmLactin products have between 12-15% lactic acid!

Did you know that lactic acid does more than moisturize? It gently exfoliates to help break down rough, dry skin boosting the natural renewal process, is a powerful humectant that helps attract and retain moisture, and improves skin texture and appearance for softer, smoother skin?

I have been using  AmLactin® Rapid Relief Lotion with 15% lactic acid this past month and love how it makes my skin feel hydrated, look bright, and feel soft again.

Other Tips for Taking Care of Your Skin After 50

Sunscreen is a Must

Our skin has had years of exposure to the harmful effects of too much sun and now we are paying the price of playing in the sun. Wrinkles, brown spots, and skin cancer risks rise after 50.

Drink Plenty of Water and Eat Right

Having a hydrating skin lotion is as important as staying hydrated on the inside. Just remember to drink plenty of water and eat a healthy diet.

Good nutrition helps the body repair skin. Drinking lots of water helps hydrate skin from the inside out.

Check your skin often for skin cancer.

I get an annual skin exam with my dermatologist because I am at risk for skin cancer in my family.

Did you know that older, fair-skinned people are at high risk and must have a yearly check-up?
