Stylish Monday Link Up: Ladies in Red

Ladies, welcome to the first Monday in February! Do you enjoy wearing red? Do you know the color psychology behind wearing red?

What does wearing Red mean?

Fashion designer Bill Blass has been known to say, “Whenever in doubt, wear red.”

The color red exudes power, energy, excitement, and passion. Studies show that the color red can create physical effects such as elevated blood pressure, enhanced libido, increased respiratory rates, enhanced metabolism, increased enthusiasm, higher levels of energy, and increased confidence.

Red symbolizes power and position. Wear red when you want to be assertive, or need to feel in control of a situation.  It works perfectly for job attires highlighting the leadership and enthusiasm. The color red is a highly visible color that is able to focus attention quickly and get people to make quick decisions.  Men wear power ties that are red as a symbol of power. In medieval times the wealthy and clergy were the only ones allowed to wear red as a symbol of their position. We roll out the Red carpet for celebrities and VIPs at events.

Red is also the color of my personality which I wrote about last year.

Many of us enjoy wearing red as the color symbolizing love and passion. Red is the most powerful color to wear to attract someone. Red is often associated with sexiness and we often view women wearing red as more sexually attractive.

If you are wondering why we wear Red in February, the American Heart Association is now bringing awareness to women’s heart health awareness.

Heart disease is the No. 1 killer of women, taking more lives than all forms of cancer combined. Someone you know and love may be affected – at any age. Heart disease and stroke claim the lives of 1 in 3 women – a third of our mothers, sisters, and friends. It’s time to change this fact.

And, of course, it’s bold and beautiful.

How does wearing red make you feel my friends? Do you feel sexier or full of energy when you wear red?

Let’s meet the Ladies in Red!

Please stop over to their Blogs or Instagram post and say hello!

Robin, red looks magnificent on you! I am a huge fan of red myself, but I don’t wear it often enough. I need to change that because it definitely does make a very powerful statement. And February is the month to wear it, for sure! I love color interpretation as well so this post was very fascinating. One thing I read a long time which was super interesting is that red can also make us hungry (I guess that is the part you mentioned about it boosting metabolism, maybe) and so a lot of restaurants use red in their decor to get you to order and eat more!

      Shelbee,
Yes red is a warm color that causes excitement, increases our heart rate, and metabolism. Cool colors work the opposite so that’s why cool colors are calm and serene.
The red room in 50 shades of grey and the red light district have the same intentions. If you know what I mean! LOL!

      Hugs,
      Robin

All of your co hosts look smashing in it as well, I am especially drawn to Emma’s look, I will stop by and visit all the ladies.
