Fall Decor Ideas for Your Home
I bet you’re wondering why I have already decorated my tables for fall. It’s been my annual tradition when the football season starts. Football seems to welcome the fall season. So do Starbuck’s Pumpkin Spice Latte and pumpkins in the stores now. Despite fall not officially beginning until September 22nd, there is arguably no such thing as it being too early to break out your fall decor ideas.
Even though the leaves haven’t turned color in Atlanta, I still put out fall decorations in September and then added Halloween pieces to our home starting October 1st.
My fall decor will stay until mid-November when I decorate for Christmas.
What is Considered Fall Decor?
Fall decor can be considered anything that is associated with the season. For example, pumpkins, leaves, and warmer-toned decor such as soft furnishings and candles can be considered cozy fall decor pieces. If you are trying to decorate for fall, avoid Halloween decor pieces such as stereotypical witches, bats, cobwebs, or spider decorations and motifs to separate the Halloween holiday from the season.
I am using my leopard print plates from my tailgate post as part of my fall table setting. Leopard print goes with everything!!
I found all my fall decorations for my dining room and cocktail table at Michael’s, Home Goods, and Pottery Barn. I purchase single fall decorations and put them together. But, of course, you can always buy premade fall tabletop decorations if you don’t enjoy doing it yourself or don’t have time.
I love these LED candles with the remote control I had from last spring from Amazon. Faux candles are safe, and I prefer ones with a timer or remote control for ease of use.

Have a wonderful week.
What an Aha! moment! I’ve been staring at all our stored Halloween decorations wishing I could put them out around our apartment building and in the foyer for tenants. It’s never occured to me before that I could simply decorate for fall then add Halloween goodies and then convert to Thanksgiving. I think I already use your transition technique for Christmas and Valentine’s day. (Since my husband and I live in the Victorian district of America’s largest historic district there are plenty of red, white and blue opportunities between Valentine’s Day and the Fourth Of July.)… Got it. Great tip 👍
Suzana,
I bet by now you’ve put our your fall decorations!
Yes, I always decorate for fall then add Halloween decorations by October 1st!
Hugs,
Robin
