Alivia Dresses for Sammy and Me

I don’t know if you remember when I posted on Mother’s Day a year ago when I first introduced you to Alivia, a female-owned clothing line. Alivia uses disabled adults as their creative artists for the prints on their clothes. Recently, they sent dresses for Sammy and me to wear.

Our Alivia Dresses

Every Alivia collection begins by transforming the artwork of a creator with a disability into radiant prints and embroidery.

By wearing Alivia, you’re amplifying their voices and talents.

Meet Stephanie Portoviejo the Artist behind our Dresses

Stephanie is a talented 28-year-old who has Down syndrome. She is a girly girl who loves all things pink, floral, and romantic. Stephanie participates in art therapy and programming at GiGi’s Playhouse NYC.

As you can see from the beautiful dresses we are wearing from Alivia they believe in the disabled artists who create the prints used in their clothes.

Sammy is wearing The Perla Embroidered Dress. A mini dress with extra flair! This smocked waist flouncy number features 3/4 length sleeves with an elastic ruffle hem finish. Pleated and embroidered cut-outs trim the deep-v neckline, surrounded by an oversized ruffle that extends over the shoulders. Open back with a tie at the neck. The skirt features ruffles and pleated tiers. Sammy is wearing a camisole underneath her dress because we prefer a more modest look.

I am wearing The Dolly Dress. An extra special tiered maxi dress with voluminous flouncy ruffle sleeves and a smocked bodice featuring intricate floral embroidery anglaise artwork in contrast thread. 100% cotton poplin with embroidery.

I have been blessed with meeting brands and companies who believe that having a DISABILITY doesn’t DEFINE your child from being a RELEVANT and RESPECTED person in the community. Alivia is one company that I am honored to support and share with you.

And so does Sammy. Thank you, Alivia, for sending us these beautiful dresses!

Purchasing these dresses from Alivia contributes $30 to GiGi’s Playhouse NYC, where Stephanie attends Art Therapy.

Until next time!
