Women Traveling Together & Solo: The Joy of Adventure

Better Together, Bold on Our Own: The Beauty of Women Traveling Together and Solo
There is something special about women who travel.

Maybe it’s the laughter that fills the room as you get ready for a night out, the conversations over a delicious meal, the photos at every stop, or the memories that turn a simple getaway into a story you tell for years. Traveling with women has a special kind of magic, and I have come to truly love it.

From exploring Williamsburg to enjoying Las Vegas, taking in Savannah’s charm, and sailing with Virgin Voyages, I have loved the experiences, the sisterhood, and the memories that come with traveling alongside other women.

But I have learned there is more than one way to experience the world. Sometimes, the adventure is even more inspiring when you take it on your own.

The Magic of Traveling with Women

I love traveling with women because it’s comforting to share the excitement of getting away, discovering somewhere new, and making the most of every moment with people who understand.

There is the planning, the anticipation, the outfits, the dining experiences, the excursions, and, of course, the laughter. Whether we are exploring a historic town, enjoying the energy of Las Vegas, strolling through the beautiful streets of Savannah, or relaxing at sea, traveling together creates opportunities for connection.

And let’s be honest: traveling with your girls can turn an ordinary trip into an unforgettable experience.

It’s about more than the destination. It’s about having someone to share the moment with, someone to laugh with when plans change, and someone who will remember that little restaurant, that beautiful view, or that unexpected adventure long after the trip is over.

Women traveling together remind me to make room for friendship, fun, and experiences outside our everyday routines.

From Influencer Summits to Travel Sisterhood

Some of my favorite travel memories have come from connections I never expected to turn into friendships.

I had the opportunity to hold influencer summits in both Las Vegas and Savannah, bringing women together around shared interests, creativity, networking, and new opportunities. What made those experiences even more special was the relationships that developed beyond the events themselves.

At those summits, I met women who eventually became my travel companions. What began at an event grew into something more—shared adventures, new destinations, and memories we created together.

We eventually traveled together to St. Augustine, Florida, and Williamsburg, Virginia, proving that sometimes the best connections you make while traveling are the ones that inspire you to plan your next trip.

There is something beautiful about meeting women who share your enthusiasm for exploring new places. You may initially meet for a professional interest or networking opportunity, but along the way you discover common interests, build friendships, and realize you enjoy experiencing the world together.

For me, these experiences have shown that travel can be about so much more than visiting a destination. It can be about building a community of women who encourage one another to get out, explore, and make time for themselves.

That’s one of the reasons I love traveling with women. You never know which connection might turn into a friendship, which event might lead to a getaway, or which conversation might inspire your next adventure.

Different Journeys, One Love for Travel

While I love the friendships and connections that have led to group trips, my Abercrombie & Kent Adriatic Sea cruise introduced me to another side of women’s travel.

During the cruise, I met two women who were traveling solo. Their journeys reminded me that women don’t always need a group to experience the world. Sometimes, traveling independently lets you embrace freedom, meet new people, and create an adventure entirely on your own terms.

It made me appreciate that there is no single way to travel as a woman. Some of us find our travel tribe through networking events and friendships. Others confidently book a trip on their own. And some of us enjoy both.

Whether we meet at an influencer summit, connect over a shared destination, or strike up a conversation aboard a cruise ship, travel has a wonderful way of bringing women together.

Sometimes, a trip gives you beautiful memories. Other times, it gives you friendships that lead to many more trips.

A New Kind of Inspiration: Women Who Travel Solo

During my Adriatic Sea cruise, I met two solo female travelers.

Meeting them gave me another perspective on what it means to travel as a woman.

Here I was, enjoying traveling with others, while these women were out there creating their own adventures. They didn’t need to wait for a friend to have time off, coordinate everyone’s schedules, or find someone willing to go to the same destination.

They were traveling on their own.

I found that inspiring because solo travel takes confidence, openness, and a willingness to step outside your comfort zone. You have to be comfortable making decisions for yourself, spending time with yourself, and being open to meeting new people along the way.

Sometimes, traveling solo leads to the most unexpected connections.

After all, I met these two women because we were sharing the same cruise experience. Although they had started their journeys on their own, that didn’t mean they had to spend every moment alone.

That’s one of the beautiful things about travel: you can arrive on your own and still find community along the way.

You Don’t Have to Choose One or the Other

I believe there is room for both.

I can love traveling with women and still appreciate the beauty of solo travel. I can enjoy having travel companions while also recognizing the freedom that comes with exploring independently.

Traveling with friends gives us shared memories. Solo travel lets us discover what we enjoy on our own terms.

Neither experience is better than the other. They simply offer something different.

When we travel together, we learn more about one another. When we travel alone, we may discover things about ourselves that we never knew.

Both experiences encourage us to be adventurous, try new things, and see the world beyond our usual surroundings.

And perhaps the best part is that women don’t have to wait for someone else to be ready before they start living the life they want.

Ladies, Don’t Put Your Travel Dreams on Hold

How many times have we talked about taking a trip, only for it not to happen because someone couldn’t get the time off, didn’t have the budget, or changed their mind?

Life is too short to keep postponing the experiences we want.

If you have women in your life who love to travel, plan that getaway. Book the cruise. Explore a new city. Find a destination that excites you and make the memories.

But if the opportunity comes along and no one can join you, consider going solo.

Start with a destination or experience that feels comfortable to you. Plan ahead, prioritize your safety, and leave room for spontaneity. You might discover that you enjoy your own company more than you expected. You might meet wonderful people. You might even come home with a new sense of confidence.

And who knows? Your first solo trip could inspire your next group adventure.

Here’s to Women Who Explore

My love for traveling with women isn’t going anywhere. I will always appreciate the friendships, the laughter, the shared experiences, and the memories we create along the way.

But meeting those two solo travelers on my Adriatic Sea cruise reminded me that there are so many ways to experience the world.

Some of us travel with our girlfriends. Some travel with family. Some travel with partners. And some confidently set out on their own.

All of these women have a place in the travel community.

What matters is that we keep exploring, keep connecting, and keep giving ourselves permission to experience life beyond our comfort zones.

So here’s to girls’ trips, solo adventures, cruise vacations, weekend getaways, and destinations still waiting to be discovered.

Travel together when you can. Travel solo when you want. But whatever you do, don’t stop exploring.

Because the world is waiting, and we deserve to see it.
