Getaway Trip to Hotel Simone on Saint Simons Island

An aerial view of the St. Simons Island lighthouse and a beautiful beach on a sunny day

Have you ever visited Saint Simons Island, one of the Golden Isles off the Georgia coast? My husband and I recently returned from our getaway trip after staying at Hotel Simone as their guest. We enjoyed our quick trip as guests of Hotel Simone.

Nestled on the Georgia coast, midway between Savannah, GA, and Jacksonville, FL, lie four beautiful barrier islands—St. Simons IslandSea IslandJekyll IslandLittle St. Simons Island—and the mainland city of Historic Brunswick. Pristine stretches of marshland, punctuated by small islands known as hammocks, define the breathtaking landscape and create the appearance of a continuous stretch of land reaching out to the barrier islands.

We have been to Saint Simons Island before when we stayed at the Cloister Hotel at Sea Island.

It’s a five-hour drive from Atlanta and close to the Georgia-Florida Howevert is an hour south of Savannah, another great city I wrote about when my cousins and I took a girls’ trip together.

Hotel Simone on Saint Simons Island

My husband and I spent 3 dthreeys as guests of Hotel Simone on Saint Simons Island. Designed to exude coastal elegance, Hotel Simone features 24 well-appointed suites outfitted with king-sized beds and high-end finishes. The hotel has a gym and rooftop pool. Breakfast is complimentary, and you get free parking and wifi.

When you enter the lobb,y you immediately see the coastal stylethroughout thee hotel. I love the fresh, colorful tropical decor.

Our Room

Our King Suite, featured a private bedroom, a sitting area, a kitchenette, and our own balcony.

I just loved the wallpaper in our bathroom! My favorite color combination!

Breakfast at Hotel Simone

Since breakfast is complimentary at the hotel we took advantage of it. You can have a cold or hot breakfast. Or a little bit of both! We always eat early so you can tell that many of the guests preferred to sleep in past seven.

The Pool and Gym

I was impressed with the gym because it had everything I used to work out with. I thought it was well equipped for the size of the room.

Unfortunately, I did not sit by the pool while we were in Saint Simons because it was windy and cold. The pool is on the top floor and has a lovely area to sit and relax with your partner.

Dining at Echo At The King and Prince Resort

Since breakfast was the only meal served at Hotel Simone, we were invited to eat at the King and Prince Resort as part of my stay. I am sure there are other wonderful restaurants in Saint Simons, but we were extremely happy eating lunch and dinner at the Echo Restaurant.

I know many of you enjoy seeing the food people select at restaurants but I totally forgot to take photos of the meals we ate at dinner at Echo at St. Simon! We ate mostly salads for lunch.

We also shared shrimp tacos and crab cakes for lunch, but I forgot to take photos until it was too late!

Fort Frederica on  Saint Simons Island

Three years after founding Georgia in 1733, Gen. James Edward Oglethorpe established Fort Frederica to defend the fledgling colony against Spanish attack from Florida.

Georgia’s fate was decided in 1742 when Spanish and British forces clashed on St. Simons Island. Fort Frederica’s troops defeated the Spanish, ensuring Georgia’s future as a British colony.

Fort Frederica National Monument is managed by the National Park Service and is located on St. Simons Island in Coastal southeast Georgia, USA. Built in 1776, a British garrison was stationed there to guard against Spanish attack from Florida.

Look how beautiful these live oaks are filled with Spanish moss.

What I Wore for Dinners at Echo Restaurant

Yes, I even forgot to photograph what I wore out for dinner too! So I came home and shot my outfits.

I am not a fan of shooting my outfits in front of a long mirror or in front of people so here’s what I packed for my trip to Saint Simons Island. When I got home I immediately called my photographer to come and take photos of these outfits from Draper’s and Damon’s.

Both outfits are perfect to pack for vacation when you want to dress up for your evenings out.

This chic and unique black Blossoming Applique Mesh Jacket takes florals into the future with appliquéd silhouettes in white. I decided to wear Draper’s and Damon’s Essential Tank Top in white but you can also wear it in black with the jacket. I styled the jacket with Clara Sunwoo’s Kick Front High Slit Pant in black which you have seen me wear so many times. Remember to use my code: ROBIN10 when you shop at Clara Sunwoo!

I am wearing jewelry from Draper’s and Damons along with black heels and my Chanel bag that’s always a perfect little black bag.

Here’s a true story that happened to me while wearing this outfit out to dinner at Echo Restaurant. I walked into the restaurant and walked by a table of six people who began looking at me as I was seated. They immediately summoned the hostess and they all began looking in my direction. No, I’m not famous but I was the best-dressed woman that night. Even on vacation, I enjoy dressing up. It takes little effort to elevate your outfit for dinner when it’s wrinkle-free.

This outfit was the second-night outfit that is also wrinkle-free and perfect for your next trip. The Rose Silhouette Tunic and Rose Silhouette Pants are so comfortable and chic! This top pairs a modern floral print with the fabulous feel of a premium knit. Day or night, it makes a beautiful statement. Even better, the top is perfect with the pants! Designed with a pull-on fit in a sumptuous knit that eases you from brunch to beachside cocktails. They pop out of your bag fully pressed with no ironing needed, making them your new favorite travel companions!

Thank you to Hotel Simone and Draper’s and Damon’s for making this getaway trip to Saint Simons Island so special for me and my husband.

Until next time my friends!
