A Girl’s Weekend In Las Vegas | IOM Summit

For those of you who have been wondering why I did not post until last week, I need to explain my absence. I was finalizing conference details for an event in Las Vegas. I created the Influencers of Midlife Summit in 2019 for midlife content creators, bloggers, and female entrepreneurs to gather together. Since I am the founder of the IOM Summit, I spent every day in September getting the details perfect. Let’s just say it was a girl’s weekend in Las Vegas to remember!

What is the Influencer of Midlife Summit?

When I began my journey as an influencer/ content creator seven years ago, I joined the fastest-growing group of women on Instagram. I also started writing this blog about topics that I thought women my age would enjoy. From fashion, health, and beauty, to travel over 50, I have written every week as well as posted Monday through Friday on Instagram. This has become a lucrative business earning me over six figures last year from paid cxollaborations. My Instagram account is where I earn most of my income.

I created this summit so we could talk openly and share our knowledge to turn our social media platforms into a money-making business.

The women who attend the Influencers of Midlife Summit are mostly over the age of 40 with different levels of expertise as content creators – both online and on air.
They represent a variety of niches, from fashion, health/wellness, business, food, beauty, technology, travel, DIY, design, personal growth, podcasts, and more.

These midlife women promote their content on various platforms, including Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, Pinterest, Podcasts, Twitter, e-magazines, and blogs.

They come to the Influencers of Midlife Summit to discuss emerging topics and trends, learn best practices, tips, and tricks, network, and develop long-term relationships with other like-minded attendees and sponsors.

This year we had Cristina Ferrare as our Keynote speaker. She and her husband Tony, enjoyed their 3 days with us at the conference. We had such a wonderful time making friends with her and supporting her as she returned to modeling this year. Did you know that the Hallmark Channel fired her in 2016 for being OLD? She spoke about this and much more during her speech.

Here Cristina is with another good friend of mine and guest speaker, Deborah Zara Kobylt. Two fabulous Italian women! In fact, there were a lot of fabulous Italian women at the conference! On Friday we ate at Giada’s where Cristina made so many wonderful toasts for all of us!

Because it was such a huge success, I am currently planning on another one in the fall of 2024. It will be in a new city with new experiences.

Paris Hotel in Las Vegas

Every hotel on the strip seemed to have a theme and I selected the Paris Hotel for my conference. Let’s just say that we were probably the best-dressed women in Las Vegas that weekend. I guess dressing nice while in Las Vegas is not important anymore.

The restaurants I ate at in Las Vegas and highly recommend!

The Bedford by Martha Stewart

Marhta Stewart’s restaurant, The Bedford by Martha Stewart was a popular spot for our evenings and lunches away from the conference.

Giada

We had dinner on Friday we ate at Giada’s where Cristina made so many wonderful toasts for all of us! I can’t even begin to tell you how delicious the food was! We ate in the Wine cellar which is a private room. A must-place to eat in Las Vegas!

Vanderpump a Paris

Vanderpump’s was a great place for photos. Very expensive and you will need to make reservations in advance.

Mon Ami Gabi

We ate dinner at Mon Ami Gabi for our last dinner together in a private room. The food and wine was excellent. Afterwards, we went to see the Shin Lim Magic show and it was also fantastic!

My Room at the Paris Hotel

Very French and very comfortable.

Thursday Night Welcome Reception

Thursday’s welcome reception party set the mood for the entire conference with a walk down the red carpet. Since Chico’s was one of the sponsors for this event and gave me clothes to wear, I only packed Chico’s for the conference. On the red carpet was my co-chair JoJami Tyler. We had so much fun doing this together.

I have to tell you that I’m in love with Chico’s fall collection. This Floral Short Kimono was perfect for my party. I just love the color combination and can easily be worn during the holidays. Throw on this short kimono over your sleeveless black dress or skirt for your next celebration. I wore a Microfiber Tank and my Brigitte Lace Trim Ankle Pants with the kimono. The earrings and necklace are also from Chico’s. My heels are from Lifestride. I actually wore the wide leather black belt on Thursday night. Sadly it’s out of stock.

You can see the entire Red Carpet Video on my Instagram account.

Friday Outfit for the Conference

Since I was the emcee of the conference I wanted to make sure that I was comfortable and stylish. This Floral Print Poncho was perfect to wear all day long at the conference and out to dinner. I wore my Brigitte Basic Slit Ankle Pants to go with the poncho. The Marble Triangle Drop Earrings played off the black and white zebra banding on the poncho. The Beaded Bib Necklace was a great statement necklace that went with two of my outfits.

I have to be honest with you but I didn’t wear my new snake print heels for the daytime conference. Because I can’t stand in high heels for long periods of time I bought these black sandals at the last minute. I won’t put a link to the sandals because as much as they were comfortable to stand in, they fell off my feet when I walked! High heels are made for sitting in and photo shoots! Chalk it up to years of wearing low kitten heels and flats. I have girlfriends who can wear high heels all day long. If you love tall high heels, then you will love these snake-print ones!

Saturday Morning

Our last day of the conference was a short one. We gathered in a small private room and talked about the changing climate of social media and how we can be more profitable as influencers and bloggers. I wore the Floral Flutter Sleeve Top with my black Ponte Pintuck Wide Leg Ankle Pants. The Teal Post earrings are one of my favorites for fall. They go with everything!

Saturday Night

Our last night together was just as spectacular as the first night. For three days we spent so much time together that we developed deep friendships that all began on Instagram. My new girlfriends and I had so much fun that we’re going to try to get together more often. So stay tuned for my girlfriend’s getaway weekends!

From left to right: Rhoda Hendrix, Shannon MannTonya Parker, Shauana Grow, me, and Sheree Frede. They all are on Instagram and write blogs too. Perhaps you recognize some of them? People were watching us and couldn’t figure out who we were when shooting outside the hotel. As I said before, when you dress up, you turn heads!

In this photo, we are all wearing clothes that Chico’s gave us. I am wearing the Faux Leather Peplum Jacket over the Spun Rayon Paisley Printed Pullover. The Ponte Pintuck Wide Leg Ankle Pants complete this outfit. The jacket has a nice peplum-style back and is sure to be a closet staple for years to come. And the jacket is on sale!

Well, that was a fun girl’s weekend in Las Vegas even though it was a business trip for all of us.
