It’s Turtleneck Season

Ladies, I love a good turtleneck, don’t you?

This is a sponsored post with Chico’s.

It’s finally turtleneck sweater weather in Atlanta and I love wearing this Coolmax® Turtleneck Sweater from Chico’s. Turtlenecks are a wonderful way to look classy and stylish during the winter season and they hide our flaws like our aging necks. I have a really long neck and I have noticed recently that the skin is starting to sag and develop more wrinkles.

This is a lightweight turtleneck that will keep you warm in the winter while looking fabulous! You can tuck it in or wear it out like I’m wearing it. Crafted in an innovative Coolmax® fabric, this turtleneck is designed to keep you comfortable by drawing moisture away from your skin so you can wear it indoors or outside. (Which I will wear on the golf course because it has wicking properties and is so comfortable to move in!) You can choose from 14 different colors but I went with the taupe for my monochromatic outfit.

The Story

I wore this outfit on Saturday when meeting my design client at Verde Home and everyone was commenting on how wonderful I looked. (My female executive client is very supportive of my fashion and lifestyle blog. I inspire her to look forward to being 60 plus and chic.)

After selecting 8 rugs to bring back to her home she wanted me to stand in the middle of the one we’re going to use in the breakfast area. (Honest to God truth my friends!) She said in front of the sales team, “Robin, go over and stand on the rug and show us how wonderful you look!”

I obliged….

Isn’t it wonderful my friends when other women love how we dress and look! It doesn’t matter what age we are, it’s how we represent a new and fresh perspective to what defines a midlife woman. We’re not slowing down at midlife, we’re moving forward at full throttle!

The Outfit

I decided to go all neutral again with this outfit. When you wear a monochromatic outfit like this you need to play up the different textures. The turtleneck is taupe and so is the feathered front vest and the coated fabric of the girlfriend jeans. Texture is an important element when putting together monochromatic looks like this. If your monochromatic outfit were comprised of the same fabric throughout, it would likely come off looking dull. You want to add visual interest, depth, and dimension to your look so it’s not one-dimensional or boring.

When you’re wearing a monochromatic outfit your jewelry can be any metal or jewel tone. I decided to dress up my outfit with a multi-strand faux pearl necklace and faux pearl chandelier earrings.

  1. A super elegant yet easy-wear look, Robin. The fur gilet is gorgeous! I love a polo neck, especially now my neck is showing signs of wear! Hugs, x.

  2. The vest adds so much to this look. The monochromatic looks gives you a very chic look. I passed up a fur vest this weekend–drat, if I had only seen this post!

  3. I love this monochromatic look. And yes, I too love turtlenecks. The one I am wearing in my link-up today is also from Chico’s and I love it. And BTW, my dining room rug is almost identical to the one your client chose.

  4. Hi Robin
I love this look on you, so gorgeous! The soft taupe pallete with the textured fur vest and print on your shoes make it so luxe looking! I have some turtlenecks and always enjoyed wearing them. The material sounds great too.

  5. Loved turtlenecks in my youth, but, alas, in my 70’s now and they seem to make my neck totally disappear! This one looks lovely on you, however, and the monochromatic look is pure class.

  6. Robin, I love this monochromatic look on you! Your furry vest is the perfect topper to this chic look! I am always a fan of a good turtleneck when the weather cools down. I am planning on wearing one today actually.

  7. I love everything about this outfit Robin! The colors, the textures – they work together so beautifully. I’m not sure I even own a turtleneck anymore, they always seem so hot but I need to check out Chico’s. They are so clever in their designs.

      Kellyann,

I am sure the weather in Florida doesn’t require you to wear a turtleneck but this one has a wicking property that will keep you cool and comfortable!

      Merry Christmas!
      Robin
