Tailgate Party At Home Made Easy

Fall officially kicked off this past weekend, as did my fall fashion and my love for football! We had so much fun entertaining our friends this weekend. So much was going on in Atlanta! We started the weekend watching the Open on Friday night; then we were glued to the tube watching college football on Saturday and Monday night (Clemson, Gators, and Wisconsin all winning) with our family. So it was a perfect weekend to host a tailgate party!

We love cheering on our Clemson Tigers and Florida Gators. College football is HUGE in the south! If we’re not going to the game, we still have a tailgate party with our family and friends who love their ACC and SEC college teams. Everyone wears their college jerseys on game day. People live and breathe college football in the south.

Hosting a tailgating party at your home is just as fun as being at the game. (Not really, but we don’t go to the games anymore since our boys graduated from college. However, we still host a tailgating party on Saturday. Standing invitation!!)

“The most exciting 25 seconds in college football”- Brent Musburger

If you can’t make it to a football game, invite your friends or family over and enjoy watching it on television.

Tailgate Party at Home Made Easy

Tailgating is about football watching, cocktails, hot dogs, hamburgers, and many appetizers. Everyone pitches in and brings appetizers to the party. We supply the rest.

Grills are fired up, and tubs of beer and wine are set up outside by the grills while the men amuse themselves before the kickoff. Football is all about finger food and yelling at the television.

Keep the Menu Simple

Hosting a tailgate party at home is simple because it’s mostly about appetizers and drinks. Your main meal can be as easy as hot dogs and hamburgers. You can even get take-out food for your party. Let your guests help out with bringing appetizers for the party.

See how simple this hotdog station is? Wrapped in foil and ready for the guests. Deviled eggs and pimento cheese sandwiches are a staple at any party in the south!

Use Paper or Plastic Dishes and Serving Pieces

I set up my screened-in terrace with fall decorations and another serving area with appetizers for those who didn’t venture out to a game this weekend. Look how cute these animal print melamine tableware are! So spot on (no pun intended!) for fall table decor! Animal print is so popular in home decor too!

Yes, I am already decorating for fall and Halloween since our granddaughters are living with us. I always decorate early for Halloween and Christmas.

How fun are the serving bowl, the condiment tray, and the plates? Gotta love the animal print design!

Fall Fashion Trending

Big chunky sweaters are trending for fall, and I am wearing this sweater over a camisole in case I get hot cooking. Jeans are a great choice to wear for your tailgate party at home. They look great with football jerseys or your favorite team colors. I always wear white jeans after Labor Day. You can add a darker color on top or go monochromatic with white jeans.

Do you throw tailgating parties at home?

Here are some cute tailgating plates I thought would be fun for your next football party!

Thanks for stopping by today!

      Kellyann,

It’s so funny how huge SEC & ACC football is in the south!
I went to Wisconsin and was a cheerleader there. We never experienced the passionate fan base like they have in the south!
I am glad you liked how I styled 2 necklaces!

      Hugs,

Every Saturday is College Football Saturday in our house! It is always so fun no matter how many people we have. Sometimes, it’s just us. Great Chico’s outfit, my friend. That necklace is stunning!
