Cocktail Recipe: Fresh Strawberry Margarita

Strawberries are the perfect summer fruit that can be used in so many recipes. From salads to desserts, strawberries are my favorite fruit. Even in my cocktails which is why I’m sharing my fresh strawberry margarita recipe with you.

My Fresh Strawberry Margarita Recipe

I prefer to use fresh strawberries in my margarita recipe but you can substitute frozen strawberries. Then I would suggest cutting back on the agave nectar or honey. Frozen strawberries might have syrup included which is enough of a sweetener.

Strawberry Margarita Ingredients

  •  10 oz fresh ripe strawberries —, washed, hulled, and sliced
  •  1/2 cup silver tequila ( I use Teremana Tequila)
  •  2 oz freshly squeezed lime juice
  •  1/4 cup agave nectar or honey
  •  1/4 cup orange liqueur such as Triple Sec or Cointreau
  •  kosher salt for the rim of the glass
  •  ice

Instructions

  1. Place strawberries, tequila, lime juice, agave nectar (honey), and orange liqueur in a blender. Pulse a few times, until smooth. Let the mixture rest for 3-5 minutes. Using a spoon, remove all the foam on top. Taste and add more tequila, lime juice, or sweetener, if needed.
  2. If you are serving in salt-rimmed glasses – run a slice of lime around the top of each glass. Dip the top of the glass in salt. (If you can not get the salt to stick – in a shallow bowl pour some lime, lemon juice, or water. Dip the glass, upside down in it and then dip it in salt.
  3. Fill glasses with ice and pour the Margarita mixture on top. Garnish with a strawberry or lime wedge.

My 4th of July Outfit

This star-spangled top from Draper’s and Damon’s was first featured in last year’s 4th of July post. Fortunately for us, it’s still available.

A burst of patriotic stars lights up this soft, cotton-blend knit tee. Detailed with rhinestones and embroidery. Styled with a boat neck, 3/4 sleeves, and side slits. I am wearing a size medium in the top.

My So Slimming Brigitte 10″ Shorts from Chico’s are so comfortable! I love the length of these shorts and now I have 4 pairs of these shorts in different colors. Recently I wore the red shorts with another Chico’s top for this Memorial Day post.

  1. I just know these are as fabulous as your outfit is festive. I haven’t heard of putting orange liqueur in a margarita but I am no mixologist. Thinking I will mix up some of these for the 4th. Thank you!! Pinning.
