A kimono is a lightweight layering piece you can wear in the Spring and Summer. It’s primarily a great piece to wear in the summer when you want to wear a layer, but it’s too hot to wear a cardigan or denim jacket. I found the perfect kimono for summer at a small woman-owned online boutique!

I want to introduce a small women’s online boutique owned by a sweet woman I follow on Instagram, Gigi. Since we’re so accustomed to shopping online since the Covid pandemic, I want to introduce a small woman-owned business that you may not know about.

I found Gigi’s Boutique on Instagram. Instagram has been an incredible platform to meet women who share essential issues and fashion with women over 50, but many small women-owned businesses follow me on Instagram. I love meeting female entrepreneurs who have created businesses they are passionate about. Gigi started her online fashion boutique with her daughter Kate. But Kate has been busy taking care of her children, and the boutique is run mainly by Gigi.

Floral Kimono

Navy is so popular this spring, and I love all the different shades of blue in this abstract floral kimono. I had this navy tank top, but you can quickly wear a white or a beige top with this kimono. These front slit wide-legged pants are also from Gigi’s Boutique. In the next post, I will show you how her Instagram post inspired me to copy her outfit from head to toe!

How to Wear a Kimono Over 50

This is a perfect summer piece that can be worn in many ways. I love wearing a kimono to cover my arms while wearing a sleeveless top or dress. It’s elegant and hides my arms when I’m in public.

• Wear it with jeans or pants
• Use it as a coverup over your swimsuit.
• Wear it over a dress that might be a tad shorter than you like
• It’s a perfect layer to hide our arms when we wear sleeveless tops
