This post is sponsored by The Cusp, however, all opinions are my own.
Girls if you have been struggling to find answers to the symptoms you have been experiencing during perimenopause and menopause The Cusp, as well as your primary physician, can work together as a team to find you the right solution to problems you have been facing during menopause.
One of the reasons I started to write my blog over 3 years ago was because I wanted to share my journey as a 50ish woman. I believe sharing information that is important for our health and wellness over 50 is so important. When a company like The Cusp reaches out to me I want to share it with you.
What is The Cusp?
The Cusp is a virtual doctor’s office with menopause specialists who are there to answer your questions that perhaps your regular doctor can’t answer because they lack the training in menopause. How many times did your doctor tell you that your low libido was in your head? Or prescribed sleeping aids when you couldn’t get a good night’s sleep?
These doctors have been trained in menopause and actually UNDERSTANDS what you’re experiencing is REAL! Did you know that 80% of OB/GYNs receive no menopause training during their residency?

Is There a Hormone Test That Can Predict Menopause?
Whether you reach menopause organically, or it’s foisted upon you surgically due to hysterectomy/oophorectomy, your body will feel the impact.
The hormone changes that accompany menopause also increase your risk for chronic conditions later in life, including osteoporosis, cardiovascular disease, and type 2 diabetes. Researchers are even looking into the link between menopause and higher rates of Alzheimer’s disease in older women.
When you’re up to your eyeballs in hot flashes, mood swings, and wildly irregular periods, a little light at the end of the tunnel is appreciated. Menopause, for many women, is the sweet reward for having made it through the previous 6-10 years.
But knowing when you’ll reach menopause is just one benefit of the test. That knowledge can also help you and your doctor plan for a smoother transition and a healthier second half of life.
In honor of World Menopause Day, The Cusp is hosting in collaboration with AHAH the fourth annual symposium on October 15-18 Vibrant Aging At Menopause & Beyond with daily speakers, forums, and Q&A.

HOw wonderful that such a service exists! It’s true that we don’t often talk about this on social media. I loved your clip as well- so interesting and relevant! Thank you xx
Lucy,
I am glad you found this service of value!
Very informative post Robin! I can’t believe doctors aren’t trained in menopause! So many menopausal symptoms are confused with other health issues and vice-versa, it’s just absurd! Thank you for sharing!
Yes, it’s sad to see how little training for menopause residents take during residency. The focus is more on prenatal and young women. I think if we shout loud enough doctors make take time to learn more about menopause.
Thank you so much for sharing this info. There are those that need and are looking for something like this.
Meegan,
I am so happy that you found this post beneficial.
So many women have questions and symptoms that their primary care or OB/GYN can’t see3m to answer and tell them to read articles or google it.
It’s so refreshing that there is actually a group of menopause experts who can help us!
Thank goodness we are talking more about menopause and experts to give you help and options. When I was going through it 16 years ago my doctor had two answers… HRT or anti-depressants. She was totally ill-equipped to deal with it.
Hilda,
I switched to a female doctor when my male OB/GYN didn’t understand why during perimenopause my blood pressure went up! After a lot of research, I realized it was because I didn’t sleep soundly from nightly bathroom trips and hot flashes at 2 a.m.
So much great information. Thanks for sharing this resource!
What a great company and no I found out the hard way most gyno’s do not deal with menopause efficiently. Glad to know there are alternatives available.
Oh goodness, I wish I knew about CUSP when I was going through menopause. It would have helped so much. Thank goodness those up and down crazy days are past but I do have a few friends who’re struggling so I’ll be sharing your post with them Robin. Thanks a mil
