Styling A Camo Print Cargo Jacket with A Black Dress For Women Over 50

Ladies, as I said in my last fashion post for Black and Olive Green FashionĀ  I was going to show you how I styled the camo print cargo jacket with a black dress for women over 50. This outfitĀ is also from Peach’s fall collection.

Even though the temperature is still in the ’80s in Atlanta, I wanted to share this outfit with and without the camo print cargo jacket.

I am having so much fun with this camo print cargo jacket from Peach! Since I liked it with my faux leather pants I was excited to see that it also looks great with this black midi dress!

Camo Print Cargo Jacket

There is something very edgy looking wearing this camo print cargo jacket with a black dress. I have seen so many young women wearing camo print jackets with black dresses albeit way shorter than this midi dress. Camo print has been in style for a few years. Wearing camo print is perfectly acceptable for women over 50. We just need to style camo print for our own personal tastes. I definitely don’t want to look like I’m hunting nor do I want to look like I’m in the military.

As an example, I have seen many women wearing combat boots with their cargo jackets. It’s too much of a military style for me.

I prefer to soften this masculine looking jacket with more femine accessories like this statement necklace and high heeled booties.

The Camden Dress

The Camden dress is constructed in luxurious and eco-friendly Bamboo Simply Soft fabric. It’s very comfortable and it doesn’t have a zipper! Just throw it on and out the door you go!

I like the side slit which gives this dress a bit of sexiness for a woman my age! This midi dress comes in black and marine blue.

I am wearing a layered gold coin necklace that is a few years old. You can have so much fun with your accessories when wearing a black dress! Scarves would look great with this dress but it was 90 degrees out when we shot these photos!

The only black booties I own are these open-toe booties from a few years ago but any booty would look great with this dress! The model is wearing combat boots but that isn’t my style. If I word combat boots with the camo print jacket it would look like I was reporting to duty! So not my style!

Do you wear camo print? What do you like about it, or do you find it too masculine? Ā Let me know below!

Thank you to Peach for partnering with me today on this post. As always all opinions are my own.

  1. Hubba hubba!! You look amazing in this dress. Love that you styled it with that darling camo jacket. I like the contrast between camo and something more feminine…I often pair my camo with pink, but also love wearing my camo pants with a metallic rose gold sweater.

I was tentative about embracing camo for the reasons you mention…but finally got over it. Now I see it as a fun, neutral print that keeps my wardrobe stylist and current.

Yes, I always wonder if camo print is too trendy so I only have a few pieces in my closet to keep me current with the trends.
It’s been around for a few years but I’m waiting to see if it has longevity like animal print.

  2. Hi Robin
Beautiful dress! It will be a great layering piece for the Fall and then for nearly all seasons!
I love the added gold jewelry and am eyeing those shoes! I do love the mix of masculine, feminine!
