Pattern Play with Chico’s

Ladies, do you mix patterns when selecting your outfit?

Disclosure: This is a sponsored post with Chico’s. The shirt was gifted to me from Chico’s. As always all opinions are purely my own.

For today’s restyle Tuesday I am wearing the no iron sateen Caroline shirt that Chico’s sells on Amazon! Did you know that Chico’s started selling their clothing in a partnership with Amazon since last spring? All Chico’s items purchased on Amazon.com will be eligible for Amazon Prime, FREE Shipping, free returns, and other benefits. With Christmas less than 60 days away, you can purchase your Christmas presents and put something for yourself under the tree!

I am wearing the shirt with the bold floral pants I wore last January in a blog post, the leopard print jewelry, and the reversible Ruana all from Chico’s.

How to Mix Patterns

As with mixing fabrics in a room as an interior designer the rule also applies to fashion. You can mix prints that are not at the same size or the style as long as they compliment each other. The striped black/camel no iron shirt looks great with the red floral pants, the reversible leopard print jewelry, and the reversible leopard print ruana because it has the same colors in the fabrics.

I have a stripe fabric, a small leopard print, and a large scale floral print that compliment each other. Each has the same colors which make styling so easy. The scale of the fabric patterns do not fight with each other too.

As the founder of the Influencers of Midlife, I invite you to join me and my co-chair Nina Bandoni, in January as we focus on style, beauty, and living the best life now as a woman of midlife!

  1. Love this! HI Robin, I needed about 4 days to recoup from our trip, but it was fantastic!
I love to experiment with pattern mixing and have done so more and more. I say, why not? What is the worst that could happen, plus you look at your clothes a new way.
I love the red print pant and the mix with the stripes and your leopard, it all goes together great.

Yes Chico’s started selling some of their popular items on Amazon last spring and it’s a very smart business move on Chico’s part.
Amazon has become the one stop shopping experience!

      Hugs,
      Robin

I love this pattern play, Robin! The floral on your pants is gorgeous and that striped blouse is perfect with it! I love ruanas, too, and what a fun one you chose!

    1. Shelbee,

      Thank you sweet friend!
I love mixing patterns whenever I can.
Even my clients enjoyed this outfit . It helps to let people know you can mix patterns in a room too!

    1. Kellyann,

      Thank you sweet friend!
Yes, many people are afraid of mixing prints but the more they see it done may help them to try it too.
Leopard and stripes are neutrals and go with everything!

      Hugs,
      Robi

  6. I would never have thought of putting those patterns together but they look great!

    1. Laurie,

      Thank you for commenting today.
Yes, stripes are also considered a neutral like an animal print.
      Stripes go with everything.
Because all pieces had the same colors in them I knew this would work when I selected the blouse from Chico’s for this collaboration.

      Hugs,
      Robin
