Steps and Tips for Wearing the Volumizer One Piece
Wearing clip-in hair extensions for the first time can be intimidating, but believe me when I say these are beginner-friendly and can be put on in minutes, or even seconds, once you get used to it.
Here’s how to do it in three easy steps:
- Part your hair right above the ears
- Insert the bottom two clips under the part (there are six clips in total), and clip them in place
- Insert your hair into the top four clips, and clip them in place
And that’s it! It’s very simple, and because the Volumizer should lay under your natural hair, you don’t have to worry about concealing the track. It looks natural: a “your hair, but so much better” situation.
I actually trimmed the hair extension to match the length of my hair. It is a 20″ long extension.
I recommend you take your hair extension to your stylist and have it professionally cut. However, I was too impatient and did it myself. The wave in my hair is from wearing my hair in a ponytail.
If you clip it incorrectly, it should stay in place all day. Again, it shouldn’t feel uncomfortable at all. Here are some tips on wearing these extensions correctly:
- Don’t tease your hair before wearing it. I know most companies recommend teasing your hair for extra grip, but Cashmere Hair actually recommends against doing this to prevent damage.
- Insert the clips a little bit under the actual part. They should grip your hair, not your scalp. If you find it slipping throughout the day, unpin and reposition it.
- Don’t wear it 24/7; never wear it when showering or swimming. While it’s comfortable for daily wear, it’s never healthy to keep extensions on for extended periods.
- You can style these extensions like you would your natural hair (e.g., you can curl or flat iron it), but Cashmere Hair doesn’t recommend using a product on it because it can cause buildup.
- Detangle it after every wear, and wash it every few wears with a mild shampoo and conditioner.
