CHIC Ruana for Spring

I always search for a great-looking ruana as an extra layer for spring and summer. Even sitting in snow-covered Park City, I am getting ready for spring and want to add a few new pieces to my wardrobe. Thankfully spring is waiting for me when I return to Atlanta in March. This chic wrap is going to get packed in my suitcase.

So many people call ruanas a poncho, but there is a difference.

What is the difference between a poncho & a ruana?

There are slight differences to note between these two layering pieces. You will usually see a slit down the middle of a ruana versus no opening on the front of a poncho. The poncho typically works like a pullover sweater, but a ruana functions more closely to a wrap.

My Chic Ruana Outfit

Whether collaborating with Chico’s or shopping on my own, I gravitate towards multi-colored ruanas. You can wear solid tops, pants, and solid-colored dresses with the Printed Woven Ruana. I purchased a pink top from Talbot’s to go with the wrap. Even though I have pink tops in Atlanta, I wanted one in Park City. I can even wear an aqua blue top with the ruana. This delicate, sheer covering has a lightweight feel and a lovely tie-dyed print that softens and brightens your everyday attire. It also comes in a bold blue floral print.

There are so many ways you can wear it, even though I am wearing it straight down. You can throw one sleeve over the shoulder like a large scarf. I’ve even seen some worn backward! This also makes a great swimsuit coverup!

I just realized that my blue chandelier earrings are already sold out! However, I’ve linked you lots of pretty blue earrings that would look great with the Denim Beaded Multistrand Necklace. Remember, ladies, I told you that they were fun statement earrings? Apparently, a lot of women agreed with me!

Again I am wearing Chico’s No-Stain White Girlfriend Ankle Jeans in white. I absolutely love these jeans! You can always wear the blue jeans I wore in this post with this outfit too. You don’t see the Neutral Fringe Raffia Mules that I’m wearing, but you can see this complete outfit on my Instagram channel.

My J. Jill post has another beautiful ruana that is still available!

Have you seen Chico’s 40th-anniversary collection featuring Paulina Porizkova? It’s wonderful to see an 80s supermodel still as beautiful at 57!

Coco Chanel said always remove one item before leaving the house. You could remove the necklace as it is too heavy looking for your pastel look and beautiful face.
