Blue Ridge, Georgia | A Mountain Getaway

Have you ever been to the Blue Ridge Mountains? I was recently invited by Southern Comfort Cabin Rentals to be their guest at one of their mountain cabins in Blue Ridge, Georgia.

Southern Comfort Cabin Rentals sponsored this post. However, all opinions are my own.

Blue Ridge was less than two hours from our house. I invited my son Alex, his girlfriend Jess, Lisa, and her boyfriend Torrey to join us for our 5-day stay in Blue Ridge, Georgia. They also brought their dogs with them because our cabin was dog friendly. Blue Ridge was recognized by Southern Living Magazine as one of the 2022 South’s Best Mountain Towns. Take a ride on the Blue Ridge Scenic Railway, following the Toccoa River to the town of McCaysville. Sample craft breweries, wineries, surprisingly upscale shops, galleries, and restaurants. Hike to a local waterfall on the Appalachian Trail, tube or kayak the Toccoa or go whitewater rafting on the Ocoee River.

Southern Comfort Cabin- Hemptown Heights in Blue Ridge Georgia.

Situated in the beautiful North Georgia mountains and 20 minutes from downtown Blue Ridge, this spectacular mountain view cabin is waiting with open arms! Some cabins just stick out from the rest, and “Hemptown Heights” is no exception. This wonderful cabin is set to make memories as soon as you walk in the front door. Take a look around at the soaring ceiling and gas log fireplace and you’ll immediately feel at home.

I love all the details that went into decorating this cabin. Look at the railing, the hanging canoe, and the fun bedroom on the lower level!

Love the Jack Daniel’s barrels in the bathroom! So clever!

Sammy slept in the bunk bedroom.

Such a great house to stay in! Fire Pit for making Smores!

Where we ate in Blue Ridge, Georgia

We ate mostly at the cabin because it was hard getting a reservation for 7 people. We did eat out on the first night then I did all the cooking at the cabin with my son helping me on the grill. Of course, I made Chicken Parmesan and pasta for our Sunday dinner! I brought all the ingredients too! Even brought the large pots too!

Black Sheep Restaurant

I highly recommend Black Sheep restaurant. The food was absolutely delicious but I also love the history behind the house and how they merged new buildings with the old house.

The Pasta Market

We had lunch at the Pasta market when we went into Blue Ridge to shop and sightsee. It filled up quickly for lunch after we stopped in. I purchased some homemade pasta to bring back to Atlanta. Very cute shop and restaurant!

I packed this Top and  Cropped Pants from Chico’s Zenergy Collection. I wore it shopping and lounging at the cabin. The jacket is from Jofit and the leopard print flats are from Bare Traps. They are oldies but goodies.

Hiking at Project Chimps Sanctuary

We decided to take advantage of the many trails near us and Lisa found this sanctuary hidden in the woods that is a chimpanzee sanctuary for former lab chimps. Project Chimps provides lifelong care to former research chimpanzees at its 230+ acre forested sanctuary in the Blue Ridge Mountains. We hiked the Yellow Trail and actually heard the chimps screeching and calling out. I posted the hike with the sounds on my Instagram account.

We hiked for over 2.5 miles and it really wore us out climbing the hills on the hike. This was also the first time Gino (Alex’s Lagotto) was off-leash. Sophie (Lisa’s golden retriever) was a good coach for Gino. Thankfully I had a great pair of hiking shoes from Adidas to wear.

I hope you enjoyed my trip to Blue Ridge, Georgia. I highly recommend you book your cabin with Southern Comfort Cabin Rentals!

Thanks for stopping by!
