My Holiday Tables with Mud Pie Gift
Ladies, with Thanksgiving in just a few days, I wanted to share with you my holiday tables that are decorated for the holiday season. And my family is already arriving for Thanksgiving, so I have my home completely decorated and ready to receive guests.
This post is sponsored by Mud Pie Gift but these opinions are my own.
Because Thanksgiving is so late this year I stay ahead of the stress of decorating my home for Christmas. I will share with you my home dressed for the holidays later this week. My home is always decorated for Christmas before Thanksgiving so my tables are set up with Christmas in mind.
I have been hosting Thanksgiving for the last 25 years and the menu has always been exactly the same for 25 years. We have entertained 25 family members when we lived in New Jersey and now it’s around 15 people depending on who can fly down to Atlanta to be with us. My parents are still able to fly every year which is a blessing. I know there will come a time when they can no longer travel so I count my blessings. My Thanksgiving dinner is based on recipes from my grandmother and from my collection of southern cookbooks.
My Holiday Dining Room Table
My dining room table will stay dressed this way until the middle of January when I take down my Christmas decorations. I love a table set instead of empty. And because my wedding china only gets used on the holidays I enjoy dressing my dining room table. Do you set your table even when you’re not entertaining?
The Celebrate serving tray from Mud Pie can be used for appetizers and I will use it again for the crescent rolls at dinner. Even though the dinner is full of carbs I still add rolls to the menu. What person doesn’t love hot rolls served from the oven!
My centerpiece is over 10 years old and I made it with vintage holiday cards and a hatbox. It’s decoupaged and I glued ribbon, holiday floral, and tassels to the box. My dining room color scheme is rose, reds, pinks, peach, bronze, and coral. The dominant colors are monochromatic since they are all from the red color family.
I love this Santa who sits on my table. I have a large collection of Santas and nutcrackers in my home which you will see later on my home tour.
The Casual Kitchen Holiday Table
This kitchen holiday table is very simple and the centerpiece can easily be removed when we eat. I put everything on a cookie sheet!
There are so many wonderful holiday serving, tableware, and hostess gifts from Mud Pie. Because we will have appetizers before we eat I selected serving trays from Mud Pie. Isn’t this a cute tree plate? You can personalize it with a permanent black marker and bake it for 20 minutes at 350!
Here’s another personalized Santa tray before I added our names to the ornaments! This is a perfect gift or buy it for your holiday table! I love this personal touch of names on platters!
My Porch Holiday Table
My porch holiday table features my Christmas plates that are 30 years old. I love all things Christmas and no exception to my outdoor porch!
These Vintage tartan wood serving bowls from Mud Pie can be used for chips during the appetizers then I will fill them with mashed potatoes and Waldorf salad for dinner.
Since I don’t have mantles to hang my homemade Christmas stocking I tie them to the chairs on my porch holiday table to give it a touch of nostalgia. My home is more modern than my porch and the stockings can be seen through the large windows from my kitchen.
My Thanksgiving Menu:
I begin making all the side dishes on Tuesday and Wednesday with my mother and my son Alex on kitchen detail. Alex loves cooking and is my righthand man in the kitchen.
The photos below are from last Thanksgiving.
My mother is in charge of the pies. We have 3 pies for Thanksgiving but actually begin to eat them before Thursday. As I am writing my mother is in the kitchen making a pumpkin pie for tonight’s dessert! Do you wait to serve dessert only on Thanksgiving? We love pie in our family and enjoy eating them when the family arrives on Tuesday. Mom makes her piecrusts so flaky and she enjoys making them for me.
All the children sleepover on Wednesday night so our whole family can be together under one roof. We start every Thanksgiving day with a large breakfast because we don’t eat the main meal until around 5:00. (I actually schedule dinner between football games.)
I will serve appetizers starting around 1:00 to keep the family content until the turkey and ham and all the sides are served. I set up all the food buffet style on my large kitchen island that is curved. Because we have had as many as 24 family members we have plenty of places to eat at Thanksgiving. Turkey and football make entertaining so effortless!

Robin, your tables are gorgeous! And such a splendid menu. I spent Thanksgiving with my sister and while she did most of the food prep, we did have a grand ole time finishing everything up in the kitchen.

I love your beautifully decorated holiday tables! The wine goblets used as candle holders are just lovely. So glad that I stopped by. Your photos really get me in the holiday spirit. Thank you for sharing.
Oh wow! Your table looks gorgeous and your menu amazing! I love your pie before Thursday idea! And those holiday dishes are so pretty! Happy Thanksgiving to you!
Oh, Robin… I love your tables! And the darling Mudpie trays and tartan bowl. The straw mats and holiday plates are a lovely juxtaposition; surprise is always a good thing!
PS: I was so happy to see you had a salad on your menu listing… There were two food writers arguing about salad on the Thanksgiving table, one for and the other vehemently against. I’m on the “for” side. This year it’s an Apple Fennel salad that I can make today and will keep for days afterwards.
Your table decorations are beautiful!
Oh my gosh what a sweet celebration! There’s a lot to absorb here: Your granddaughter simply could not be more adorable. And how cute is Mom on duty as the Pie Maker! … And your table settings. They’re predictably spectacular. ✨✨✨💖
