A light bulb went off in my head this morning after I posted about wearing monochromatic colors and as an interior designer I am an expert in color theory so Ā how about I share Ā the blue and orange complementary color scheme I tend to favor so much. {Florida Gator mom}
Complementary Colors in Fashion
I call it complementary color scheme and many people refer to it as color blocking. Take 2 colors that are opposite of each other on the color wheel and Ā go bold!

This blue boho chic dress and orange necklace were purchased while I was in Oregon for myĀ family reunion.
Complementary Color Scheme for Interior Design
Want to go for high-contrast color? Use a complementary scheme ā it includes hues that are directly across from each other on the wheel. For this client’s family room we are going with the blue/orange combo. Not a Gator family, an Ā Auburn family!!
I selected the blue/ orange color scheme for theĀ 2013 Christmas at Callanwolde HolidayĀ house.
I felt the red/green traditional Christmas colors ( also complementary colors) would fight the elegant silk toile wallpaper.

I was featured in the 2015 June/July issue ofĀ Design NJ,Ā but this living room is a perfect example of the blue/orange complementary color scheme byĀ Patricia Turchyn Interiors in Little Silver.
