It’s Layer Season with J.Jill’s Fall 2020 Collection

I love fall weather. The air is crisp, the leaves are golden, and it’s finally layer season! I have the perfect layered look from the J.Jill Fall 2020 collection that is going to be on repeat year after year! It’s a classic and timeless look for many women over 50!

J.Jill’s Fall 2020 Collection

J.Jill’s fall collection was inspired by the fall’s color palette of warm goldens, browns, and rich colors that are tied to nature. I just love so many pieces from the fall collection that I will have a couple more posts sharing with you the things I just love about this collection! Being a fan of J.Jill clothes for years you saw in one of my last posts, I was wearing J.Jill from 2019. I always shop there and was so honored when they asked me to do this collaboration with them. My first outfit from the J.Jill fall collection is the Snap Front Plaid Topper over J.Jill’s Taylor Luxe Faux Suede Pants which is a classic look that can be worn year after year! The herringbone plaid topper is a timeless piece that you should be thinking about adding to your wardrobe. I am wearing it open but you can also wear a belt over the topper as another style. I am not thin enough to pull that look off so I just stick with what looks good on me.

If you’re thinking about getting this topper I should warn you to go down a size. The plaid topper runs large so I am wearing a small instead of my usual medium.

The Taylor Luxe Faux-Sude Pants fit me like a glove. They do run true to size and come in 3 colors. The pants are SO SOFT and have a touch of stretch in them which I love. You throw on heels as I did for work or date night but flats look just fabulous with this outfit too.

Pattern on Pattern

Many of you have asked me how to wear a pattern on another pattern without looking busy and it’s all about staying in the same color scheme and the scale of each pattern. The Autumnal Rose Square Scarf has the same colors as the topper which made it easy for me to select this scarf. The scarf compliments the plaid topper. I tend to wear scarves more when the weather gets cooler but a chunky necklace would also work with the topper. If I had a chunky wood statement necklace then I would have worn it with this outfit.

My Simply Supima Crew-Neck Tunic under the topper can also be worn on its own which you will see later. I tend to prefer wearing long shirts or tunics with pants. The tunic comes in 7 colors and is a perfect top to add to your wardrobe!
