HGTV Dream Home 2024
I was recently in Saint Augustine, Florida, as a guest of the tourism board, which I will share with you next. However, while we were visiting Saint Augustine, we were also invited to see HGTV Dream Home 2024! As an interior designer, I have always enjoyed seeing showhouses, but this was a first for me. I have always entered the HGTV Dream Home sweepstakes, but seeing one in person was one of the highlights of my trip!
The HGTV Dream Home
This year’s dream home is located on Anatasia Island near Saint Augustine. The 3-bedroom – 4-bath coastal home is a private marsh oasis that offers bucolic views and easy access to the Atlantic.
The Main Floor
This well-designed open floor plan includes the living room, dining room, and open kitchen, which offers easy flow between spaces. Whether entertaining or just relaxing at home with family, the modern layout keeps everyone connected.
The main color throughout the house is various shades of blue creating a calming effect when you walk into the house. This open floor plan is perfect for entertaining. I happen to love all the different shades of blue in the house. As designers, we are adding color back into the homes we design and moving away from all-white interiors.
This stylish pantry has a lightened-up terra cotta hue called Persimmon on the walls, ceiling, and trim. This 2024 HGTV Home by Sherwin-Willams Color of the Year is an ideal mix of earthy and vibrant.
The kitchen, pantry, and laundry room are just steps from the mudroom, with a door that connects to the attached two-car garage.
Master on the Main
Design Tip: When considering a home design after the age of 50, please make sure you have your master bedroom on the main floor. So many people have to sell their homes as they get older because they can’t climb the stairs to their master on the second floor.

This peaceful main bedroom with an airy vaulted ceiling offers a private retreat from the rest of the home.
A spacious steam shower offers a spa-like experience at home, with dual shower heads, single-setting hand showers with slide bars, body sprays, and an overhead rain can shower head. This deluxe design allows you to customize the shower to your personal preference for soothing relaxation or invigorating rejuvenation.
Second Floor
The second floor has two guest bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a loft seating area.
With plenty of seating, ample snacks, a bundle of board games, and an amazing coastal view, the upstairs loft space offers something for everyone and invites relaxation and connection.
Soothing olive green contrasts beautifully with the vibrant artwork and orange-toned duvet on the day bed for an unconventional vibe that still feels current and engaging.

Sunset views and soothing waters surround the backyard of the HGTV Dream Home 2024. With multiple spaces to eat, live, and play outdoors, this home embraces coastal living in every way.
