Family Vacation: Saint Augustine Beach

I hope you’re having a wonderful summer so far. One of the things that my husband and I have started doing with our children and grandchildren is taking a family vacation together. We want to create memories together. This time, we decided to rent a house in Saint Augustine Beach, Florida. This is a great beach town that is close to Saint Augustine. I visited Saint Augustine with four other bloggers in February and told my family how cute the town was. We were looking for a beach vacation, and Saint Augustine Beach did not disappoint!

Family Vacation: Saint Augustine Beach

We decided to stay at Saint Augustine Beach with our family after years spent at the Outer Banks when the kids were growing up. Beach vacations have always been fun with the kids. This time, our granddaughters and a couple of grand puppies joined us. Family vacations provide the backdrop for shared memories between parents, their kids, and grandchildren, cultivating a closer family bond.

Our House at Saint Augustine Beach

We rented our house through VRBO and were so pleased with this house. This large home, with an elevator, sleeps 16 people comfortably and has many rooms and spaces to call your own. The addition of a heated pool with a sun shelf, a large hot tub, a wood-burning fire pit, and all-new loungers surrounding this oasis make this a fabulous place to relax and enjoy the day. A pergola covers a portion of the decking with accent lighting, giving great ambiance in the evening while enjoying the fire pit and light ocean breezes. The entire back of the home is fenced with a high privacy fence, keeping your area quiet and serene.

Morning coffee at sunrise and sunsets were spent on the rooftop.

Sunsets were followed by a walk across the street to the ice cream shop.

See the entire house on the VRBO website if you’re thinking about renting it.

We took turns cooking dinners every night; it was fun to listen to the kids discuss how to grill and prepare their dinners. Alex was my second in command in the kitchen. Having the entire family under one roof was so special for my husband and myself. Waking up to the little ones wanting to see the sunrise while in their pajamas

The house’s location was perfect! It was just a few steps from the ocean and minutes from really good restaurants nearby. We had lunches at the Sunset Grille and the Salt Life Food Shack. Both were really good!

Chico’s at Saint Augustine Beach

While I was there, I had to shoot clothes for Chico’s, so the beach was the perfect backdrop for my photo shoots. As you know, I am paid to wear Chico’s clothes. Since May, Chico’s focus has been on me sharing vacation-perfect clothes. All of the clothes have already appeared on my Instagram account.

When we were shooting at 8:00 a.m., I received many compliments from passersby. I actually wore most of the clothes because they were perfect to pack without a lot of wrinkles!

Activities we enjoyed at Saint Augustine Beach

Every day, we spent time on the beach, but the kids also spent time in Historic Saint Augustine. They also went to the Alligator Farm and the Lighthouse.

Saint Augustine Lighthouse is a privately maintained aid to navigation and an active, working lighthouse in St. Augustine, Florida. The current lighthouse stands at the north end of Anastasia Island and was built between 1871 and 1874.

The St. Augustine Alligator Farm Zoological Park is one of Florida’s oldest continuously running attractions, having opened on May 20, 1893. It has 24 species of crocodilians and also a variety of other reptiles, mammals, and birds, as well as exhibits, animal performances, and educational demonstrations.

I hope you enjoyed our family vacation. We made so many wonderful memories. Because we had so much fun together as a family, we’re off to Jamaica for our next annual family vacation.

Saint Augustine Beach is a perfect destination for your next family vacation. It has so many things to do. Or if you just want to chill on the beach, that’s perfectly fine, too!

  1. I love that family photo! All those Chico’s clothing items were perfect for a sunny beach trip and that house rental sounds phenomenal.
