Fall Fashion Trends for 2022: Back to Basics

Happy Labor day weekend! I hope you’re doing something fun on the last holiday weekend of summer.

It’s been very hectic for me because last Sunday, we welcomed our third little granddaughter. We have been taking care of a 4-year-old and a two-year-old this week, making it difficult to write anything, which is why you haven’t seen a post in a week. Son and daughter-in-law are home from the hospital with sweet baby Lila, but they still depend on us to help them with our granddaughters. So it’s a blessing to care for my granddaughters and be present in their lives.

Anyway, I thought I would start sharing the fall fashion trends for 2022 that I bet you already have in your closet. So s I will share fall colors to clothes trending in 2022 with you in September.

Fall Fashion Trends for 2022

When researching this year’s fashion trends for fall, I was pleasantly surprised that one of the trends is going back to the basics we should already have in our closet. Blazers, button-down shirts, and faux leather will be popular this fall. These basic wardrobe essentials should already be in your closet.

Faux Leather or Real Leather is popular for fall.

I have many faux leather jackets and pants in my closet that I can wear this fall and winter again. These f aux leather pants first appeared in this post with my camo print jacket. I also  wore these pants with a fur vest from Peach. This ti e I styled my faux leather pants with a blazer and striped button-down shirt for a classy look for work or a date night. I wore a belt over my pull-on pants because I tucked in my shirt.

The blazer is a fall staple.

Trends come and go year after year, but a select number of staples come back season after season, and a blazer is a constant for fall. A good blazer is a must-have piece that can be styled for any season and serve more than one purpose in your wardrobe. A blaze is a classic wardrobe staple that can elevate your look instantly. I have blazers I’ve owned for years that I can wear again this fall. This blazer is from Talbots that is over ten years old.

The Iconic Button-Dow Shirt is back for this year’s fall fashion trends.

The most dependable of wardrobe essentials is the classic button-down shirt. It s among a mere handful of garments that can exude authority and polish instantly. No matter how preppy or minimal, the button-down is a timeless wardrobe staple favored by style icons like Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy and Jane Birkin. From the classic white button-down to stripes, you can’t go wrong with having them in your closet. Sometimes there is nothing more satisfying than throwing on an oversized button-down shirt and a pair of jeans on a crisp fall day.

Wearing a blazer, faux leather/ leather, and button-down shirts are just a few of the fall fashion trends for 2022.
