Yes, people have perceived ideas on what women over 50 should look like but I think I’m an age disrupter.
I also think people need to let women wear their hair or extensions without judgement.

I just want to say that I love your hair. That high ponytail is stylish, professional and (I hate to use this term!) age appropriate. I’ve read so many opinions on whether women over a certain age should have long hair. You make it look beautiful.

Hi Robin,

Yes, it’s hard to dress up when you’re busy in the warehouse and your shop, but do you need to dress up for client meetings?
I don’t dress up for installations, deliveries, or shopping, but I do for meetings.
I think look chic and stylish is important part of conveying your professionalism to your clients but it depends on what the situation is.

Thanks for this article. I’m a kitchen designer/owner. I have to be casual most all the time. I am in the warehouse, custom shop, and on job sites everyday. It is imperative that I be free to move and climb steps/ladders, etc. I really want to be professionally dressed, but I must admit, it’s challenging at times.
