Thank you, Sydney, for your comments. Yes, it seems the flag is being associated with only one political party lately, and that isn’t what the flag was meant to represent.

Unfortunately, most companies use younger models, which is why I share what I look like in a swimsuit.
They never use a woman over 60 wearing their swimsuits.

Great article then shows a 20 something swim model in the swimsuit ad halfway down . How are people supposed to know if a suit looks stupid if you dont vary the models. Useless

Thank you for writing this post, Robin! You stated so well what we all need to remember: the flag is for all of us and represents the ideals that our country has struggled towards for the last 250 years. We haven’t reached all those ideals yet, maybe they are something you always have to work towards? Hopefully our flag can help unite us enough to keep trying!

Thanks Shirlee for your thoughts. The American flag belongs to every American. It isn’t owned by a political party, a movement, or an ideology. It represents the ideals our country strives for—freedom, sacrifice, resilience, and the generations of men and women who have served, protected, and built this nation.

Very nice post, Robin. Sydney and I have talked about this before, and we too think it’s very sad that one side seems to have usurped the flag. I’m sure she’ll have a flag out for the holiday, and I think I will too.
