In reply to Michele Linton. Yes, it's sad to see how little training for menopause residents take during residency. The focus is more on prenatal and young women. I think if we shout loud enough doctors make take time to learn more about menopause.

Very informative post Robin! I can’t believe doctors aren’t trained in menopause! So many menopausal symptoms are confused with other health issues and vice-versa, it’s just absurd! Thank you for sharing!

Hilda,
I switched to a female doctor when my male OB/GYN didn’t understand why during perimenopause my blood pressure went up! After a lot of research, I realized it was because I didn’t sleep soundly from nightly bathroom trips and hot flashes at 2 a.m.

So many women have questions and symptoms that their primary care or OB/GYN can’t see3m to answer and tell them to read articles or google it.

Thank goodness we are talking more about menopause and experts to give you help and options. When I was going through it 16 years ago my doctor had two answers… HRT or anti-depressants. She was totally ill-equipped to deal with it.

What a great company and no I found out the hard way most gyno’s do not deal with menopause efficiently. Glad to know there are alternatives available.
