Summer Floral Maxi for Any Occasion

Hello, my friends! Have you missed me lately? No, I wasn’t taking a break from my blog, but my website went down on May 9th, and I have been working to get it up again since then.

As you can see I’m back! This post was to be about Mother’s Day and what I wore for Mother’s Day.  I’m rewriting it because that day has passed but I still wore this dress! It was the perfect dress for Mother’s Day and it’s a perfect floral maxi to be worn for any occasion!

The Disappearance of the website (You can skip over this if you find website 101 boring)

Last Wednesday I had just posted the Floral dress worn at the celebration dinner for the next chapter of Motherhood and was working on the Mother’s Day post when I noticed Thursday morning an “error connection closed” when I went to my website. Nothing. Nada. Blank page. It was also the day my family members were flying in for the large Mother’s Day party we were hosting and baptism of our Olivia Lynnlee.

I spent 2 hours googling the message and followed about 5 suggestions on how to fix the problem. I did this every morning in between family gatherings and cooking for the weekend party.

I finally called Bluehost tech support and asked them to look into the problem. ( Bluehost is the server for my WordPress blog.) My domain name is owned by Google, hence the problem. They said Google had it pointing back to Google and not to Bluehost servers which happened when it was auto-renewed and I was trying to transfer the domain name to Bluehost.

Am I boring you yet? Anyway, they told me what to do to fix it but they wouldn’t do it for me. Another learning lesson on website 101. I was this close to starting up a new website to avoid learning any more website building! I am too old to be tech savvy, but I persevered by watching YouTube videos of pointing the domain name to the server. It was finally back on track by Tuesday when I kissed my mother goodbye and I could spend time sitting in front of the computer. I was ready to pay someone to do this because I hate having to learn about stuff I really don’t want to learn about!

The Summer Floral Maxi Dress

The dress I wore on Mother’s Day can be worn for any occasion and I wore it in Hilton Head out for dinner with my husband.

I used a white no iron shirt as a jacket to cover my arms. I tend to get cold in restaurants and this was a perfect look for a date night.  I wore the white sea glass chandelier earrings and an old multi-strand turquoise necklace for my dinner date.

On Sunday I wore the same dress and earrings, but switched out the necklace and wore a lime green pashmina to church.

It was a wonderful day celebrating Mother’s Day with my mom and hosting 30 people later that afternoon with good food, great conversations, and plenty of pool time!

Doesn’t my mother look wonderful for 83! I am so blessed!

Did you notice that I have crossed out the 50ish and put 60ish above it on the header? It doesn’t affect SEO because it’s a graphic and I won’t change my website to age with me. I’m still 50ish!

    Hilda,

Yes, I should hire a website designer, but every time I want to change something, I get charged.
If I was making money as an influencer, like I do as an interior designer, I would have them on payroll.
This is so hard, but I’m learning a lot as a blogger!

    Hugs my friend!

  3. Wonderful dress, I love the length and I love the print with beautiful colors. Your outfit with the beautiful accessories: necklace, earrings, purse … it’s really wonderful. The knotted shirt is a beautiful touch of originality. You look fantastic with this look!
